2023 Kia Sorento

The 2023 Kia Sorento will represent the third production year of the current generation, so we are pretty sure there are no significant changes to come. Simply, the last years redesign has brought a lot of improvements in every aspect of the vehicle. Furthermore, the 2022 model has brought hybrid powertrains to the table, two of them. That’s why we are pretty sure that the best we could see for the next year are minor updates, such as new color options and a few more standard features.

All in all, you may count on a relatively compact three-row SUV, which has a lot of good things to offer. Besides the nice cabin, it also offers a broad range of powertrain options, including two hybrids. Furthermore, the ride quality is good, while fuel economy is another reason to consider this SUV. On the other hand, keep in mind that the third row is tighter compared to rivals, while the cargo area isn’t much more impressive either.

As there are no significant changes to come, we believe that the 2023 Kia Sorento won’t arrive before the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Kia Sorento Design

Design-wise, the 2023 Kia Sorento definitely won’t change. It will represent the third production year of the generation, which is still early for styling updates and similar changes. So, we are about to see the same styling, which stands out with sharp headlights and generally aggressive front end. The rest of the cabin looks quite conventional for a crossover of these proportions.

We don’t expect to see bigger mechanical changes either. The next year’s model will carry on with a familiar layout, including the same suspension setup. The Sorento is easy to drive, while the suspension is halfway between comfort and sporty ride. Such a balanced setup makes it a good choice for a wide range of drivers.

Interior

From the inside, this SUV looks way more expensive than it actually is. The 2023 Kia Sorento interior will continue in the same way, of course, with super-nice materials and great build quality. The dashboard looks sharp and elegant, while things like a digital instrument cluster and large infotainment screen make it look even more impressive.

The driving position is good, as well as the visibility. Also, the front seats are massive and supportive, while the second row offers plenty of space as well. On the other hand, the third row isn’t that generous with space and feels more appropriate for kids than for adults.

Behind the third row of seats, you may count on about 12.6 cubic feet, which isn’t particularly impressive. However, the cargo area is quite expansive. Once you fold down the third row, you get 45 cubic feet of cargo room. Fold down the second row and you get a total cargo volume of 75.5 cubes.

Features

Of course, there is always a chance to see a couple of novelties in this aspect but we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same as in the current model. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo, HD Radio, and six USB ports.

Among the options, you can find a lot of great upgrades. There are 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touch screen, satellite radio, navigation, voice recognition, additional second-row USB ports, a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, a 12-speaker Bose premium stereo, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and many more.

2023 Kia Sorento Engines

The current model already offers a broad range of powertrain options, so there is no reason for us to believe in novelties in this aspect. Instead, the offer will remain the same and start with a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, which puts out around 190 horsepower.

While the base engines seem okay for daily commuting, the optional 2.5-liter turbo-four is definitely a much better choice. This one puts out 90 horses more and offers way better driving dynamics. Also, this one comes in pair with a dual-clutch transmission, while the base engine comes with a classic 8-speed automatic.

When it comes to hybrid options, you may count on the same hybrid powertrains as in the new Santa Fe. The offer starts with a classic setup, which combines a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine with an electric motor, for a total output of 227 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid version comes with the same engine but a more powerful electric motor, so the total output goes up to 265 horsepower. Also, you may count on 33 miles of the all-electric range in this case.
