The legendary nameplate has just been resurrected and the new model shines in pretty much every aspect. It is super luxurious, spacious and capable, so it’s no wonder that no one expects bigger changes for the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which will represent the second production year. However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t be seeing novelties in the near future. According to the latest reports, the company is preparing a stretched version, which will come as the Grand Wagoneer L, designed to compete with stretched versions of Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
The rest of the things are about to remain the same. We expect to see a familiar layout, based on the company’s familiar BoF platform that underpins the RAM 1500 as well. The Grand Wagoneer is great in many ways, particularly in terms of comfort and convenience and we have no doubt that the sales numbers will continue to grow in the near future.
We expect to see the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Design
Design-wise, we don’t expect to see any particular changes. The new Grand Wagoneer shares a lot of parts with the RAM 1500 but despite its rugged nature, it is one of the most refined SUVs on the market. We particularly like the ride quality, which is smooth and super-comfortable.
In terms of aesthetics, we could see smaller updates, such as new color options. Other than that, the Grand Wagoneer will continue with the same styling, which follows the brand’s latest design language.
When it comes to the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, we expect to see bigger dimensions and more space on the inside. The standard version measures around 123 inches in wheelbase and we expect that this one will be good for more than 130 inches. Other than the bigger size, this model shouldn’t be any different compared to the base model.
On the inside, things are definitely about to remain the same. That’s a good thing, considering that the new Grand Wagoneer features one of the nicest cabins in the class. The materials, as well as the build quality, are exceptional and everything looks really upscale. Furthermore, there is a generous list of standard equipment, which makes the cabin look even more luxurious.
Besides great quality, there is also a great amount of space. All three rows are generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. The front seats are well-shaped and very comfortable, while the driving position is excellent. The cargo area offers around 27.4 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 70.9 cubic feet behind the second and 116.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume
The new Grand Wagoneer would probably offer a similar amount of passenger space, while the cargo area would offer significantly more space.
Since we are talking about the second production year, there’s no doubt that most of the things are about to remain unchanged. Therefore, base models should come equipped with goodies like a 12-inch touch screen, navigation, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, HD Radio, satellite radio, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa (including Fire TV), wireless device charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, tri-pane panoramic sunroof, quad-zone automatic climate control, remote start, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 10.25-inch display in the second-row console. Among the upgrades, expect to find an interactive front passenger display, a 23-speaker McIntosh audio system, and a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system.
When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, parking sensors, surround-view camera, head-up display, adaptive cruise control and more. Also, count on upgrades like traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness monitoring, digital rearview mirror, intersection assist, night vision assist etc.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Engine
The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will continue with a good-old 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine, which features a max output of 471 horsepower. With all that power, it’s no wonder that driving dynamics are pretty impressive. Furthermore, the engine comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the whole setup feels very smooth and refined.
However, this powertrain isn’t without flaws. It uses a lot of gasoline and the average fuel economy goes around 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, which is one of the lowest ratings in the class. On the other hand, you may count on spectacular 9.850 pounds of the max towing capacity.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. The current model starts at around 89.000 dollars and we don’t expect bigger changes for the next year’s model.
