Hyundai’s biggest vehicle in the lineup has been around for a while but things are changing pretty quickly in today’s automotive industry that it’s already time for an update. According to the latest reports, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade, which will represent the fourth production year, will get a facelift. At this point, we still don’t know the details, but there are some things we can speculated about.

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the styling and we have no doubt that most of this update will be about aesthetics. Furthermore, we might see some updates on the inside as well, while a long list of standard features seems like a natural thing. On the other hand, the engine lineup could remain the same, though there are some reports that suggest the possible addition of a hybrid powertrain. The officials are still quiet on this matter.

We expect that the 2023 Hyundai Palisade release date will be scheduled for the second half of 2022.

2023 Hyundai Palisade Design

The current, first-generation Palisade has been around for a while and the next year will be fourth in the production cycle. That’s why we expect to see a mid-cycle update, which should be mostly about aesthetics. We expect that the 2023 Hyundai Palisade facelift could bring a completely new front end, with novelties in areas like the grille, headlights, bumper etc. All these parts should take inspiration from the new Tuscon and feature a similar design language.

Other areas of the vehicle could come with novelties too. We presume we could see a few tweaks on the rear end, as well as things like new wheels, new color options etc. Also, visual packages are pretty popular these days, so we might see some of them on the offer for the new Palisade as well.

Interior

Interior changes are possible too, but if we consider how good the current model looks from the inside, it’s hard to believe in anything spectacular. Most likely, the overall dashboard design will remain the same, with minor tweaks only. The biggest changes would come in terms of new materials and color schemes. Also, we would expect to see some new tech features on the offer but we will get on that in a minute.

On the other hand, the overall cabin layout will certainly remain the same, which means that you may count on a spacious and comfortable crossover, which comes with three rows and eight seats. All three rows are generous with space and can accommodate adult passengers. Also, we really like the driving position, whether it’s about ergonomics or visibility, which is good in all directions.

The cargo area offers around 18 cubic feet of space behind its third-row seats, 45.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 86.4 cubic feet of the overall volume. Those are pretty good ratings for a mid-size SUV.

Features

This aspect will certainly bring novelties and the first thing that comes to mind at this point is new tech features. We expect that the 2023 Hyundai Palisade will come standard with the currently-optional 10.25-inch infotainment system, while higher trims could easily get something even bigger. Also, we believe that the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster could become part of the standard equipment.

Other than that, we know for sure that the next year’s model will come standard with HD Radio, Bluetooth, five USB ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are already on the list of standard features. Also, we could see a few more of them, taken from the current list of options. For reference, the current list of available features includes goodies like navigation, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, satellite radio, additional USB ports, wireless device charging,  sunroof, dual sunroofs, dual-zone automatic climate control and more.

2023 Hyundai Palisade Engines

We expect that the 2023 Hyundai Palisade will continue with the same 3.8-liter V6 under the hood. This naturally-aspirated engine features a max output of 291 horsepower, which is enough to move this large vehicle with authority. The acceleration is pretty good, while the 8-speed automatic transmission ensures a smooth ride. When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the class.

Also, some rumors suggest that we could see a new, hybrid version of the Palisade. At this point, the officials are quiet, so we could only presume that the new powertrain would be based on a turbo-four engine or something like that.

We expect that the updated model will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022. When it comes to the 2023 Hyundai Palisade price, base models should go around 34.000 dollars. Key competitors will be models like Honda Pilot, Chevy Traverse, VW Atlas etc.
