The current generation of the world’s most popular pickup was introduced for 2021 and just a year later, we saw one big change. The diesel version was discontinued and the F-150 is now only available with gasoline units, as well as one hybrid option. Soon after, rumors appeared, suggesting that this discontinuation was just temporary and that the oil burner will come back in the next year. Eventually, the 2023 Ford F-150 Diesel didn’t happen and the offer remained focused on gasoline units. On the other hand, we saw a couple of pretty interesting updates.

The next year’s model comes with a couple of important updates, and they are mostly about off-road features. Of course, one of them is the Raptor R model, with the Supercharged V8 unit and 700 horsepower. On the other hand, the company also introduced the new Rattler package, which brings off-road upgrades to the cheapest XL model.

As we’ve just mentioned, there will be no 2023 Ford F-150 Diesel. Instead, things will remain mostly the same as in the 2022 model, with a couple of changes. The biggest one is definitely the new Raptor R, which brings a much more powerful engine to the Raptor world. However, this model also brings a few more upgrades, such as 37-inch tires, which are optional in the standard Raptor.

Still, the more important novelty in our opinion is the introduction of the new Rattler package. This is an off-road package that’s available with the base XL model and the beauty of this package is that it allows you to have a capable off-roader without paying enormous amounts of money. You don’t have to pay extra for things like convenience features or styling upgrades. This version is strictly about off-road upgrades, while the rest of the pickup remains the same, which also means affordable.

Among off-road features, we should mention goodies like standard four-wheel drive, skid plates, hill descent control, off-road shock absorbers, electronic rear locking differential, all-terrain tires with 18-inch aluminum wheels etc.

Interior

Things are pretty much the same in this aspect as well. The F-150 looks nice from the inside, with fine materials and attractive aesthetics. The cabin is stylish, though not as elegant as the Ram 1500’s one. However, everything is well-built and very functional. Importantly, the cabin is one of the biggest in the class, no matter the style you choose.

Speaking of the styles, this pick is available in various configurations. You can choose between three cab styles – regular, SuperCab (extended) and SuperCrew (crew cab), as well as between three bed lengths.

Trim Levels

Once again things are about to remain the same, with the exception of the new Raptor R. So, the offer will start with a pretty basic XL trim level, which includes essentials only. It is followed by the XLT, which adds a couple of interesting upgrades, such as aluminum wheels, power accessories and cruise control.

The Lariat has always been a sweet spot, with a great balance between price and the number of features. Some of the highlights are goodies like 18-inch wheels, LED bed lighting, leather upholstery, a 12-inch touchscreen, power-adjustable pedals etc.

The King Ranch brings up the luxury with a couple of upgrades, such as LED lighting, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a premium audio system, wireless charging etc. This version is also characterized by plenty of exclusive styling details. Above Kind Ranch, you will find Limited and Platinum trims, which are the most luxurious versions of the F-150.

When it comes to off-roading, we already mentioned the new Rattler package. There is also the Tremor trim, which comes with goodies like standard 4WD. 18-inch alloy wheels, 33-inch all-terrain tires, several traction control modes, upgraded suspension and a locking rear differential.

Finally, there are Raptor and Raptor R models, with additional off-road upgrades and more powerful engines. The standard Raptor comes with a well-known 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out around 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The Raptor R comes with a new 5.2-liter Supercharged V8, which puts out around 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.
