2023 Cadillac XT6

Cadillac’s mid-size crossover has been around for a while and from what we can see, the company already works on a mid-cycle update. Simply, the current model doesn’t impress and most competitors feel better. That’s why the 2023 Cadillac XT6 should bring a lot of new things. Among them, we will also see the company’s advanced semi-autonomous driving system, known as the Super Cruise, if we can trust the latest reports. The upcoming update should also bring styling changes, while it would also be nice to see novelties on the inside.

Despite the updates, the overall layout should remain the same. So, you may count on familiar design characteristics and features. This crossover offers a lot of good things, starting from a spacious cabin, easy-to-use infotainment system and comfortable ride. However, there are some notable drawbacks as well, starting from not particularly agile handling, subpar interior quality etc.

Considering the expected update, we presume that the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will hit the market a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of the year.

2023 Cadillac XT6 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 is about to receive a facelift and we count on all kinds of novelties. Of course, the styling is the first thing that comes to mind and presume that most of the things are about to happen at the front. At this moment, only the grille is camouflaged, but that’s probably because the company is testing the Super Cruise system. We believe that Cadillac designers will make some aesthetic changes during the next year. Some of the parts that could be revised are the grill, both bumpers, headlights, taillights etc.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle will remain untouched. This crossover rides on the familiar C1 platform and shares most of its parts with models like GMC Acadia and Chevy Blazer. Of course, it is an FWD car, which is one of the main handicaps when compared to most premium rivals. Fortunately, you can get an AWD layout for a more engaging performance. However, event than the level of athleticism isn’t at a very high level.

Interior

The inside of the current model is a mixed bag. While the first two rows of seats are spacious and comfortable, the overall interior quality isn’t spectacular at all. Of course, it looks nice but the problem lays in the fact that most rivals look nicer, whether it’s about materials, build quality or tech features. That’s why we expect to see some revisions to the dashboard. We might see a bigger infotainment screen, as well as things like new materials, new color schemes etc.

On the other hand, the overall layout of the cabin will remain the same. So, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 interior will continue with two spacious rows of seats, as well as with the third row that’s typically tight for the class. When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 12.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 43.1 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 78.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. Those are decent numbers for the class.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are expected as well. We already mentioned that the company is testing the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, while there is also a possibility to see a bigger infotainment screen. Other than that, we presume that some of the features that are currently optional will become standard. Those would be things like a digital instrument cluster, navigation, wireless charging, upgraded sound system etc.

The same thing is with safety features, though we have to say that the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect. All models come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, parking sensors etc. Among options, you can find a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic emergency braking, surround-view camera, park assist etc.

2023 Cadillac XT6 Engines

Things under the hood should change. So, base models will probably continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine should satisfy most drivers, especially after they realize that the average fuel economy goes around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which is above-average for the segment.

For those who are looking for something peppier, there is a 310-hp V6, which returns around 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is a typical rating for the segment.

2023 Cadillac XT6 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Cadillac XT6 will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022, with a starting price of around 50.000 dollars.
