The Bavarian carmaker is famous for making coupe iterations of its SUV models and that’s why many suggest that the full-size X7 could also get a coupe form. So far, we saw nothing but rumors but it looks like something is actually happening, according to the latest reports. It looks like the new model is actually in development and that it could come already in the next year, as the 2023 BMW X8. Of course, the officials are still quiet on this matter, so make sure to take the following paragraphs with a big reserve.
The new model would come in a coupe SUV form, with a similar design as X6, just in a bigger package. Of course, the X7 would serve as the basis and the two models would share most of the parts, whether it’s about aesthetics or mechanics. Moreover, we also count on the same engine lineup.

2023 BMW X8 Design
As we already mentioned, the base design shouldn’t bring any surprises. This particularly refers to the mechanical aspect of the vehicle, which should be pretty much the same as in the case of X7. The new model would feature pretty much the same chassis and suspension setup, which promises a great driving experience.
In terms of aesthetics, the main difference would be on the rear end, where this model is expected to feature a sloping roof, which would provide that coupe SUV layout. On the other hand, the front end should look pretty much the same and this would include all the novelties that were introduced with the recent update. To remind you, the recent update brought a new front-end design, with narrower headlights, a more massive grille, a new bumper etc. Of course, the 2023 BMW X8 could come with a couple of exclusive styling details but those would probably be pretty subtle.
Interior
The same thing is with interior design. Therefore, the main difference will be on the rear end of the cabin, where the sloping roof would compromise the amount of space. If the company is willing to install the third row of seats in this model, its headroom would definitely be compromised. For the same reason, the cargo area would be notably smaller.
On the other hand, the first and the second rows of seats would offer the same level of comfort. Furthermore, the dashboard design would look pretty much the same. This would include the recent updates as well. Namely, the X7 came with a new infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, as well as a few more tweaks to the dash and center console. So, we may expect the same thing from the future 2023 BMW X8.

Features
Once again, count on a strong relation to the more conventional SUV iteration. We presume that the list of standard and available equipment would also look pretty similar. For reference, the X7 currently comes standard with goodies like a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, a 10-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, two USB ports, Bluetooth, proximity keyless entry, remote start, ambient interior lighting, a universal garage door opener, a panoramic moonroof, and quad-zone automatic climate control.
Also, there is a long list of available features that includes goodies like infotainment gesture control, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound stereo, a rear-seat entertainment system, and a driving information and video recorder, power soft-closing doors, glass instrument controls, five-zone automatic climate control, heated and cooled cup holders, and a larger moonroof with LED lighting.
Of course, the new X8 would probably come with a few differences in this aspect but we are pretty sure that most things would be the same.
2023 BMW X8 Engines
The engine lineup would be pretty much the same, and this would include the recent powertrain lineup as well. So, base models would come equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six, which recently received a massive power upgrade. The max output now goes up to 375 horsepower, compared to the previous 335 hp of the max output.
Also, we would see the new M60i model, which features a mild-hybrid system in a combination with a good-old 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The max output goes around 532 horsepower.
Finally, we would expect to see the XB8 version, with the Alpina badge, which also received a power upgrade recently. The max output now goes up to 630 horsepower.
All models would come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmissions.

2023 BMW X8 Release Date and Price
Although there are reports that suggest the 2023 BMW X8’s arrival already in the next year, the officials are still quiet about this model. So, we recommend you stay reserved about this arrival. If the new coupe SUV happens, we presume that the starting price would go somewhere between 85.000 and 90.000 dollars.
