Lexus is bringing new players to the game and one of them will be the 2022 Lexus LQ. This will be a brand-new model in the lineup, a flagship model of the Japanese luxury brand. At this point, we don’t know the exact details but there is so much to speculate about. The new model will come to compete with German premium full-size crossovers, such as BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, but it is expected that the Japanese manufacturer will come with a little bit sleeker design approach, with the full focus on the style.
The new model will be built on the company’s new TNGA platform, with a lot of parts shared with models like LS and LC. It will be a pretty large vehicle, with a long wheelbase and plenty of interior space, even though it won’t be available with three rows of seats. The engine lineup shouldn’t bring bigger surprises and we expect familiar options in the offer.
We expect to see the 2022 Lexus LQ release date scheduled for the next year.
2022 Lexus LQ Design
When it comes to the base design, a lot of things about the 2022 Lexus LQ are still a mystery. However, we are pretty sure that the new model will take a lot of inspiration from the LF-1 Limitless concept, which has been presented not so long ago. This particularly refers to the styling, which shouldn’t be much different compared to the concept. This is the latest design language of the brand, and the front end looks quite similar to the LS sedan, especially the well-known spindle grille design.
On the other hand, the overall shape is what really stands out. This crossover will feature a sleek design, with a long hood and coupe-like rear end, which will ensure a pretty impressive overall design. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the car shouldn’t be significantly different compared to the LS sedan.
In terms of size, the new model should feature around 120 inches in wheelbase. According to rumors, the ground clearance should go around 8.5 inches and we expect that the suspension setup will be well balanced and that the new model will be both comfortable and fun to drive.
Interior
The inside of the 2022 Lexus LQ is still a mystery. We presume that the dashboard design won’t be as extreme as the one found in the LF-1, which looks extremely futuristic for serial production. We presume that the production version will be toned down for a bit, but that the amount of luxury and extravagance will be at a super high level. Lexus makes excellent interiors and this will be a flagship crossover – you know what to expect.
Although a full-size SUV, the new 2022 Lexus LQ won’t feature three rows of seats. The coupe-like layout means no room for the third row. Instead, we will see two super-spacious rows with plenty of room and a super-high level of comfort. Moreover, we presume that a version with second-row seats will be available too.
2022 Lexus LQ Engines
We don’t expect bigger surprises under the hood of the 2022 Lexus LQ. Base models will probably come with a familiar 3.4-liter turbo V6, which puts out around 414 horsepower. That’s the amount of power that ensures a more than a convenient ride. Furthermore, we could also see a familiar hybrid setup, also borrowed from the LS sedan, with a max output of 354 horsepower.
Some sources also speculate about the high-performance version. If that happens, we presume we would see a new twin-turbo V8 engine, which puts out around 600 horsepower. The officials are still quiet about this version, so take this with a big reserve.
Gasoline-powered models will come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid will use a well-known CVT gearbox.
2022 Lexus LQ Release Date and Price
The 2022 Lexus LQ could come already in the next year, but we are still waiting for a more precise date. When it comes to the price, base models will probably cost around 80.000 dollars.
