After the last year’s update, it’s pretty much for sure that the 2022 Honda Ridgeline will come without more important changes. The current generation has been around since 2016 and we expect it will remain active for a few more years. The overall design should remain unchanged until the redesign, and that would include all the novelties that were introduced with the recent update. To remind you, that refresh has brought a new styling, infotainment system updates and a few more novelties. For the next year, the best we could see are novelties in terms of standard equipment and similar minor updates.

All in all, you may count on a familiar pickup truck, which has a lot of great things to offer. Even though it isn’t as capable as rivals, it offers benefits such as superior ride quality and comfort, spacious cabin and hi-quality interior. We also like its super-smooth V6 engine, as well as the new styling.

The 2022 Honda Ridgeline release date should be scheduled for the end of 2021.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Design

When it comes to the overall design, we certainly won’t see changes. Of course, smaller updates in terms of new color options and visual packages are always possible, but the essence will remain the same. Keep in mind all the novelties that the recent update has brought. This particularly refers to the front end, which includes new headlights, new grille and bumper, all designed in a bolder fashion that provides a bolder and more aggressive look than before.

Mechanically, this pickup standard out from the crowd in terms of its unibody platform. Such a design provides superior comfort and rides quality compared to traditional BoF trucks. Also, this truck handles like any other crossover on the market. On the other side, rivals like Jeep Gladiator or Ford Ranger are superior in terms of max towing capacity.

Interior

What we really like about this truck is the cabin layout. The 2022 Honda Ridgeline interior won’t be any different and once again, you may count on a crew cab layout only. This cabin is spacious and accommodates adults in both rows with ease. That usually isn’t the case in this segment.

Besides plenty of space, the seats are also pretty impressive. They are massive and supportive, pretty much the same ones you can find in models like Passport and Pilot. Also, the overall interior quality is on par with SUV siblings, which is fantastic. No other pickup truck offers such a car-like interior design. The aesthetics are great, while we also like the materials, which are pretty impressive, even when compared with most mid-size crossovers. Finally, the list of standard equipment is quite long, which makes the cabin look even more upscale.

Features

As we’ve just mentioned, the list of standard and available equipment is pretty long. Base models come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, Bluetooth, a seven-speaker stereo, push-button start, keyless entry etc. Additionally, you can get things like a moonroof, wireless device charging, navigation, satellite radio, HD Radio, an eight-speaker stereo, two more USB ports, and an in-bed audio system.

When it comes to safety, we doubt things could change significantly for the next year. The current model is already pretty impressive in this aspect, as it comes standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, you can get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Engine

Things under the hood definitely won’ change. The 2022 Honda Ridgeline will continue with a good-old 3.5-liter V6, which puts out around  280 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all wheels in all variants.

The powertrain is really refined. We like how it works, as well as the fact that there’s plenty of power to move this pickup with ease. Furthermore, fuel economy is more than decent. You may count on about 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, which is quite good if we consider the standard all-wheel drive.

As we already mentioned, this pickup isn’t as capable as BoF rivals. You may count on about 5.000 pounds of the max towing capacity, while most rivals can tow 7.000 pounds or more.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Release Date and Price

The lack of changes means that we probably won’t see this pickup before the last quarter of the year. Base models should go around 36.500 dollars.
