The Forester has always been a well-rounded model, strong in many aspects. The current model is no exception, as it is one of the most practical family SUVs in the segments, with spacious seats and cargo area, loads of safety features, hi-quality interior and excellent AWD system. However, many of us don’t like the current engine in the offer and its lack of power. Therefore, reports about the 2021 Subaru Forester update don’t seem unlikely at all.
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind about this update is the engine. We expect novelties under the hood, maybe even a hybrid powertrain. On the other side, we have no doubt that Subaru will carry on with its very conservative approach in terms of aesthetics, so visual changes are not expected. On the other side, we may see a couple of additions in terms of standard equipment. The 2021 Subaru Forester should arrive sometime in the second half of next year.

2021 Subaru Forester Engines
There is no doubt that most anticipated 2021 Subaru Forester changes are those in terms of powertrain. The current model comes with just one engine in the offer. It is a familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit, which is good for about 182 horsepower. As you may presume, dynamics aren’t particularly great. On the other side, the fuel economy is impressive. With this engine, Forester returns around 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Don’t forget that we are talking about an AWD model, so these numbers really sound amazing.
Still, we believe that such an excellent AWD system deserves something more powerful. Therefore, many Subaru fans would love to see 2021 Subaru Forester Turbo in the next year. Of course, we are talking about a new 2.4-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Of course, the engine may be slightly detuned for this occasion.
Hybrid
There is also a chance to see 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid. Currently, this model is available around the world, but not in North America. This could change in the near future, though we are still waiting to hear something from the officials on this matter.

2021 Subaru Forester Design
Certain changes are about to come, but we are definitely not talking about 2021 Subaru Forester redesign as some reports suggest. We are about to see just a couple of more updates, other than new engine options. When it comes to base design characteristics, we definitely don’t expect to see anything particular.
The 2021 Subaru Forester will carry on with a familiar design, based on the company’s new modular platform, which underprints pretty much everything in the company’s lineup. The Forester is light and fuel-efficient, and also delivers pretty amazing handling.
In terms of styling, things are typically conservative for this brand. Even the last redesign didn’t bring any bigger change. The overall shape is pretty similar to the previous generation, so we are pretty sure that the 2021 Subaru Forester will carry on in the same way.
2021 Subaru Forester Interior
The interior has always been a strong point of this crossover, so the 2021 Subaru Forester will continue in the same way. We won’t see any particular changes, but that won’t change the fact that we are talking about one of the best cabins in the class. The dashboard isn’t the nicest in the class, but definitely features hi-quality materials and more than enough style.
On the other side, the cabin is very spacious and comfortable. Front seats are massive and supportive, while the second row offers plenty of legroom. Also, visibility is excellent in all directions. When it comes to the cargo area, you can count on about 35.4 cubic feet behind rear wheels, while the overall cargo space goes all-away up to impressive 76.1 cubic feet. These are class-leading numbers.

Features
We may see a couple of additions in terms of standard equipment, but we have to say that the current model already looks pretty impressive, especially in terms of safety features. In this aspect, all models come standard with things like adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, pre-collision throttle management, lane departure and sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and lane departure prevention. Additionally, you can get things like blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights etc.
When it comes to tech goodies, all models come standard with a 6.5-inch touch screen, four speakers, satellite radio, HD Radio, and a pair of USB ports. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also standard. Higher trims also offer navigation, an 8-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth hands-free text messaging, a nine-speaker etc.
2021 Subaru Forester Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2021 Subaru Forester sometime in the second half of next year. Base models should go around 24.500 dollars. Key competitors are models like Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape etc.
