The 2021 RAM Ramcharger is an unfinished project by FCA. The model left a lot of fans after discontinuation 20 years ago. Now, it might come back, as muscular as it ever was. The truth is, chances are tiny. Dodge vehicles are not quite popular nowadays. Durango is still in production and FCA wants to save it with the latest redesign. On the other hand, the company is quitting on Journey. What’s more, there are a couple of full-size SUVs on the way (Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer). So, where can the new vehicle fit?
The concept shows a big, truck-based SUV. The 2021 RAM Ramcharger will definitely be larger than Durango. We expected to see it riding on the BoF architecture next season, but it is not going to happen. Chiefs maybe changed their minds and decided to launch the vehicle with a different nameplate.
The power source is not questionable. There is plenty of energy coming from various V6 and V8 units. The Trackhawk is also an option. Durango received a supercharged mill with 710 horsepower. Ram 1500 pickup could also offer the same drivetrain. So, the truck-based SUV might follow the example of its siblings.

2021 RAM Ramcharger Renders
The only images we can find are based on the fans imagination. They combined new clues and concepts with an old Ramcharger. The vehicle seems huge. Well, we cannot imagine the compact Dodge Ram vehicle. The size of the new model will be similar to Jeep Grand Wagoneer. In the matter of fact, you can compare these two with Chevrolet and GMC models, usually called General Motors twins. The 2021 RAM Ramcharger will definitely share the mechanical specifications with some of the existing vehicles in the family. On the other hand, the styling shows a muscular Dodge appearance, with a massive front fascia, and extended body.
Engines and Specs
The drivetrain for the 2021 RAM Ramcharger will depend on its size. Since we expect a huge SUV, there is no doubt that a V8 will be part of the lineup. A 5.7-liter displacement is the lighter option, delivering 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Still, the company might go with a V6 for the entry-level version. The Pentastar 3.6-liter drivetrain will save fuel, but the price is around 60 ponies of the total output. That will definitely harm the overall performance of the SUV.
There is an option for the higher-end trims. A 6.4-liter and the SRT package might tune the new 2021 Dodge Ramcharger to 500 horsepower. Finally, the Hellcat engine is something every big rig in the family wants to offer. But, there are only a few models with this 700+ hp rated unit. FCA recently introduced a new suspension. The multi-link system works just fine and we expect this configuration on the truck-based SUV.

Trim Levels
We can predict packages of the Ramcharger by looking at the Dodge Durango’s lineup. This is one of the longest lists of models of some SUV, offering many different versions. Nevertheless, Dodge offers completely different packages for Journey SUV. Since it will be based on the Ram 1500 truck, the 2021 Ramcharger can also use some of the trims available for the half-ton pickup. Besides the high-end Hellcat edition, we also might see the Rebel as an off-road 4×4 SUV. SRT is also possible. At the entry-level and mid-range offer, there will be a lot of other interesting choices. Still, we don’t know what does the FCA plan precisely.

2021 RAM Ramcharger Release Date, Prices
The 2021 RAM Ramcharger will arrive next season, but only as a concept. Dodge Durango is refreshed and the next premiere should be Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Since the Ramcharger is going to share a lot of things with the upcoming SUV, it won’t be hard for engineers to tune the vehicle. The base price of both siblings should be around $50,000, while the SRT might go up to $75,000. Hellcat is a whole new world and we won’t be surprised if this one hits a six-digit price.
