Reports of the famous Wagoneer have been circulating since 2013 and it looks like the legendary SUV is finally about to come back. According to the latest reports, the new model is in a testing phase and could hit the market by the end of next year. The popular nameplate hasn’t been in use for decades and now it’s coming back for the flagship model. The 2021 Jeep Wagoneer will be the biggest and most expensive model in Jeeps lineup. We are finally about to see a body-on-frame vehicle from this manufacturer.

As you may presume, the new model will have a lot in common with the new Ram 1500. The two models will share most of the mechanics. On the other side, the styling will come in a typical Jeep manner, though you shouldn’t expect to see those funny wood panels in the new model. AS we’ve already mentioned, the new model should hit the market by the end of next year.

2021 Jeep Wagoneer Design

Although a familiar nameplate, the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is actually a brand-new model that is about to come. At this point, it is all about speculations, but many reliable sources claim that the new SUV is actually happening. As you may presume, the new model will have a lot in common with the Ram 1500. We are finally about to see a full-size SUV from FCA, a model that will compete with Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition etc.

The SUV will ride on a new DT architecture and we count on the same mechanics as in the popular truck. Besides the standard model, we also count on an extended-wheelbase version, which will be bigger and more spacious from the inside.

Exterior

When it comes to the exterior design, the first thing we should mention is that we count on typical full-size dimensions. In practice, this would mean around 120 inches in wheelbase and typical proportions for an SUV of this size. On the other side, the styling is still a bit of a mystery. Simply, we are waiting to see the next-generation Grand Cherokee first, and then we can talk about the direction in which would the new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer go. We presume that the Jeep’s new design language won’t change drastically.

We presume that the brand’s recognizable styling solutions will remain. This particularly refers to the front end, where we expect to see those famous vertical stripes, though the exact number of them is still unavailable. The overall shape should be in a typical wagon manner, though the new design language should be characterized by a much more angular approach. Some reports also suggest an off-road version, with raised suspension and similar upgrades, but we feel it’s still too early to talk about these things.

Interior

This aspect of the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer is a complete mystery. Most likely, we will have to wait for a test model to come up and to try to catch some interior details. On the other side, certain reports suggest the new model could come in the form of 2021 Jeep Wagoneer Concept first, where we would see new styling solutions, including the interior design. In any case, we have big expectations from the new SUV.

Simply, Jeep and other models from the FCA Group are generally known for nice interiors, so there is no reason to expect anything different from the new model. It is possible that the dashboard will feature some basic contours of Ram 1500’s shape, though in a completely new layout. We expect pretty high overall quality, as well as a full load of advanced tech goodies and safety features.

2021 Jeep Wagoneer Engines

Under the hood, the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer should come with FCA’s familiar units. We presume that the base model will feature a familiar  3.6-liter V6 engine with around 305 horsepower. Higher trims will come equipped with a well-known 5.7-liter Hemi V8, which delivers around 395 horsepower. A bigger 6.4-liter V8 is possible too. All engines will come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

Some reports are also suggesting a hi-performance version, equipped with a mighty-full 6.2-liter Hellcat engine. At this point, we are still waiting for any reliable information.

Finally, we could easily see a diesel version in the offer as well. Naturally, that would be a well-known 3.0-liter inline-six. An inline-six turbodiesel comes from the Italian company called VM Motori and delivers around 240 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

2021 Jeep Wagoneer Release Date and Price

The latest reports are suggesting that the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer could hit the market in the second half of next year. According to the same reports, the price would go around 50.000 dollars. Still, keep in mind that everything you’ve read is based on rumors and that we are still waiting to hear something from the officials about the new SUV.
