2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Comeback: What We Know So Far
Famous nameplates are coming back these days and one of them will be the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. FCA is about to expand its lineup and one of the segments, where it doesn’t have a model to compete, is the segment of full-size SUVs. This will be the biggest vehicle in Jeep’s lineup but won’t be the only novelty. We also count on a little bit smaller Wagoneer. Practically the Wagoneer will compete with models like Expedition and Tahoe, while the Grand Wagoneer will feature notably longer wheelbase and compete with rivals like Suburban and Expedition Max.
We have big expectations from the new 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Given the brand’s reputation, we count on strong off-road performances as well, which is something the aforementioned rivals don’t have at the moment. When it comes to the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer release date, we expect it will hit the market sometime in the second half of the next year. The testing model has been spotted already and we hope it will take off the camouflage soon.
2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Design
When it comes to base design characteristics, it’s not hard to presume the direction of this SUV. Fortunately, FCA already has a new platform prepared for this model. Of course, we are talking about the same architecture that underprints the new Ram 1500. The two models are about to share most of the mechanics, thought the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer specs list will include some additions as well. One of the first things that come to mind is an independent rear suspension. This is something we expect to see as a standard feature, which will have a highly positive effect on overall driving experience, particularly in terms of comfort.
2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Dimensions
Of course, one of the most interesting things about this model is the size. Given the dimensions of rivals, we may presume that the new model will feature more than 130 inches in wheelbase. With such 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer dimensions, we may presume that the new model will be able to offer three spacious rows of seats, with a generous amount of legroom. An adult-friendly third row seems like a natural thins and we also count on a spacious cargo area, with around 120 cubic feet of overall volume.
Styling and Interior
One of the most interesting things to see will be styling. As we already mentioned, the new model has already been spotted on the road. However, it is still in a testing phase, so it’s no wonder it wears a pretty heavy camouflage. Still, we may presume that the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will stick to Jeep’s proven design solutions in a large portion. One of the first things that come to mind is the front end, which will definitely feature those famous vertical bars on the grille. Other than that, we count on a pretty conventional design approach, where we expect to see a lot of similarities with the next-generation Grand Cherokee, which is also about to come completely redesigned in the near future. Of course, the rest of the body is expected to come in a typical wagon-like manner, which ensures loads of interior space.
When it comes to interior design, we can’t say too much at the moment. Still, we may presume that the company will put a lot of effort into making this cabin look upscale. We count on hi-quality materials and attractive shapes, but also on loads of tech features, just like it was the case with the new Ram 1500. Of course, one of the highlights should be a new 12.0-inch touchscreen.
2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Engines
When it comes to powertrain, we count on FCA’s familiar units in the offer. Unlike the new Wagoneer, which is expected to come with three engines in the offer, the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer probably won’t be offered with V6 and diesel engines. Instead, base models will come with a familiar 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which is good for about 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
We may presume that the company will offer some additional engine options for this occasion. The first engine that comes to mind is a bigger 6.4-liter HEMI V8, which is good for about 475 horsepower. Some reports even speculate about the Supercharged 6.2-liter unit, but that doesn’t seem much likely at the moment. In any case, all engines should be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Release Date and Price
We expect to see the new SUV by the end of 2020. The testing mule has been on the road for some time, so we may presume it will take the camouflage off in the near future. That means we could see its premiere at some of the upcoming major auto shows. When it comes to the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer price, we presume that base models will go slightly under 60.000 dollars.
