Considering the segment, it’s not hard to presume that Tucson is a vastly important model for the Korean carmaker. The popular crossover is the second best-selling Hyundai in North America, after its close relative, Sonata. Therefore, the upcoming redesign draws a lot of attention. The all-new 2021 Hyundai Tucson will have to compete with some pretty serious names in the business, such as RAV4 or CR-V, so the next generation gets the best possible treatment from Hyundai engineers. Will this be enough to mark satisfying sales numbers, it is hard to tell at this point.

In any case, the upcoming model will bring novelties in various aspects. The test mule has been spotted on the road a couple of times and you can see that it still wears a complete camouflage. That would mean nothing but really huge changes to the crossover, which has been updated last year. We count on a completely new styling, new interior design, new engine lineup and more. Also, expect to see a full load of standard equipment.

The test mule is on the road and it wears a camouflage. We know for sure that 2021 Hyundai Tucson will get a completely new underprinting. The new platform should bring typical kinds of improvements, starting from better driving characteristics, certain weight reduction and more. We have no doubt that the new generation will utilize a lot of new mechanics but somehow, all this remains overshadowed by the new styling, which is expected to be absolutely amazing.

The styling should be something that will help out 2021 Hyundai Tucson a lot to stand out in the segment that is probably the most competitive in the automotive industry today. As we already mentioned, the new model still hides under the camouflage, so we may presume significant changes. Naturally, we expected that the new model will be adapted to the brand’s latest design language. That means parts like a cascading grille and split headlights, something that characterizes all fresh crossovers from the lineup. Naturally, the 2021 Hyundai Tucson will have most in common with its bigger sibling Santa Fe.  Of course, we count on a couple of distinctive details as well.

The rear end of the new crossover seems intriguing as well. It is under very heavy camouflage, so we can’t tell much about it. Still, you can easily notice one interesting detail. The plate is now on the trunk lid, instead of the rear bumper, which is the case with the outgoing model.

Interior

This is where we also expect to see a lot of improvement over the current model, which doesn’t actually feature the best interior in the class. Moreover, it delivers a mixed cabin quality, with lots of hard-plastics surfaces. Also, the aesthetics could be better, despite the fact that the current model has been updated recently and that the new version features a modern dashboard layout with a tablet-like touchscreen. We expect much more from the new 2021 Hyundai Tucson. We count on higher-quality materials, as well as on a cleaner dashboard design with a more premium feel. When it comes to the interior space, we don’t expect bigger changes, as the new model probably won’t be much bigger than the current one.

Still, that definitely isn’t a bad thing, considering that the outgoing model offers a lot of legroom, as well as very good support in both rows of seats. On the other side, the cargo area is slightly smaller compared to most rivals, but the thing we like is a wide cargo bay, so we hope that the new model will come with a similar design as well.

Finally, we count on loads of new technologies. The current model is already pretty decent in this aspect, while the 2021 Hyundai Tucson should be even better. The latest reports are suggesting a large 12.3-inch touchscreen, as well as additions in terms of safety systems. Some of the things we expect to see are adaptive cruise control, forward-collision braking, lane-following assist, rear-collision braking and a blind-spot monitoring system.

2021 Hyundai Tucson Engines

The current model features a little bit uninspiring powertrain options, so expectations in this aspect are pretty big as well. According to the latest reports, the company is about to introduce a completely new 2..5-liter four-cylinder engine. We still don’t have the numbers, but we may presume that the max power will go around 190-200 horsepower. A turbocharged version is possible as well, though a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 235 horsepower seems more likely in this case.

2021 Hyundai Tucson Release Date and Price

We expect to see the new 2021 Hyundai Tucson sometime in the next year, though a more precise date is still unavailable. When it comes to the price, we probably won’t see any significant increase compared to the current model, which starts at around 23.500 dollars.
