2021 Chevy Tahoe Redesign, Pictures, Release Date
A completely new version of the popular full-size SUV is coming next year as the 2021 Chevy Tahoe. Those are the latest reports about this SUV, which has been successfully competing with the Expedition for years. The rival from the Blue Oval company has been redesigned a couple of years ago, so its not Tahoe’s turn. For this occasion, GM has prepared a lot of novelties. The new model will come completely redesigned and reengineered, with tons of new technologies and design solutions.
The first 2021 Chevy Tahoe pictures have already been rendered and things are definitely going in the way we expected. This refers both to mechanics and design, as well as to the powertrain lineup, which will be much longer this time, as we expect to see two new engine options in the offer, including an oil-burner. In any case, the new model is about to hit the market sometime in the third quarter of the next year.
2021 Chevy Tahoe Redesign
There is no doubt that the 2021 Chevy Tahoe redesign will bring a lot of novelties. Already at this point, we know a lot of details about the next-generation model. Of course, the first thing we should mention is the platform. Naturally, the new model will switch to the company’s new T1 platform, which already underprints the new Silverado. Benefits from the new architecture will be numerous, starting from a massive weight reduction. According to some estimations, the new model will be for about 300 pounds lighter, which will definitely have a lot of impact on driveability and efficiency. On the other side, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe is about to grow for a bit, which could solve some of the interior space issues that characterize the current model. Also, another important novelty for the new model will be an independent rear suspension, which should be standard in the upcoming model.
Besides completely new engineering, the new model will also come with a completely new exterior. First of all, we are about to see the implementation of the brand’s new design language. Most likely, the front end will look almost identical to the new Silverado 1500, particularly in terms of the grille, headlights and other design characteristics of the front face, including those fancy air curtains. On the other side, the overall body style shouldn’t be much different from the current model. A classic SUV shape will remain, though we could see some minimal changes in terms of dimensions. The new model could become a little bit bigger, with more inches in wheelbase, which should provide more space on the inside. Also, don’t exclude a possibility to see a couple of exclusive versions, with distinctive styling solutions.
Big changes are expected on the inside as well. We expect to see a completely new cabin layout, with new dashboard design. Most likely, it will look very close to the new Silverado 1500, though some exclusive details are possible as well. Of course, improvements in terms of the overall interior quality are expected, starting from new, finer materials and more attractive color schemes. Still, we are pretty sure that isn’t your main concern. A longer wheelbase should provide more space on the inside and solve the issues that characterize the current generation. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe interior should come with more legroom in back rows, particularly in the third one, which should finally become adult-friendly. Same refers to the cargo area. Naturally, we also count on more equipment in the new model, particularly in terms of the latest tech goodies and advanced safety features and driver aids.
2021 Chevy Tahoe Engine
This will be one of the most interesting departments of the new model. We expect to see at least four engine options in the new model. Of course, two familiar V8 engines from the current model will carry on. Those are 5.3- and 6.2-liter units, which feature max output of 355 and 420 horsepower, respectively.
Besides two familiar engine options, we also count on a new 2.7-liter turbo-four, which delivers around 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. If the company decides to present some kind of a 2021 Chevy Tahoe concept or prototype version before the launch, it will probably come with this engine. Finally, we expect to see a diesel version in the offer. This model will come with a 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six, which is expected to feature a max output of around 280 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.
2021 Chevy Tahoe Release Date and Price
We are still waiting for the official details about the 2021 Chevy Tahoe release date and price. Still, we may presume that the new model will hit the market sometime in the second half of the next year, most likely in the third quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, base versions should go around 50.000 dollars.
