The 2020 Suzuki Vitara will hit the streets with a freshly redesigned fascia, and a significant number of important changes. At first glance, you will notice how charming and elegant this model is. The exterior goes through a serious facelift, and the interior will include more soft-touch materials, with special attention to the cabin comfort.
Also, the upcoming Vitara will introduce new turbocharged powertrain and some very useful additional equipment. Moreover, new color options are available, to enhance the design language and flow. The overall weight is reduced, and surely, the new Vitara will bring nothing but the quality on the market.
2020 Suzuki Vitara Redesign
It’s been already four years since the Hamamatsu based automaker released Vitara model. During that time, the engineer and designer carefully planned a new concept that will fit perfectly in the existing lineup, and keep the company competitive in the compact SUV class. Now, the brand-new redesigned 2020 Suzuki Vitara is ready for the production. The new model will introduce very subtle, but effective exterior changes. The front bumper is remodeled, especially in the lower part. Also, the grille will get vertical, rather than horizontal slats. Furthermore, new Vitara includes fresh LED units, since the lamps from the previous model have been discarded. The upcoming model will roll on alloy wheels, and the color palette will introduce two new paint option.
As for the interior, new Vitara will offer more soft-touch materials, mostly for the upper instrument panel. Moreover, the instrument cluster is redesigned as well, and a multi-color central information display is one of the updates. The armrest between front seats grow a little bit, it is leather-covered and gets wider, so the comfort is guaranteed. As for the safety features, 2020 Vitara is the Suzuki’s most technically advanced model, with numerous updated safety features and special packages.
The forthcoming 2020 Suzuki Vitara will deliver some vibrant color choices. There’s still a couple of the oldies, but the new options will definitely help Vitara to develop a unique visual identity. However, the new model offers only one solid paint finish option, and this option is generally the cheapest. If you don’t need anything too extravagant then the Superior White is just the thing for you. And, did I mention it’s totally free?
Next, 2020 Vitara offers a metallic finish. This kind of finish brings more personality to the vehicle. Also, besides the standard greys and silvers, this model offers some lively and vibrant hues as well. You may choose between Atlantis Turquoise, Horizon Orange, and Bright Red. These three color options include a black roof, to show their full-color range with this contrast. Of course, for the folks who like the traditional look of the car, there’s Silky Silver, Galactic Gres, and Cosmic Black Pearl.
The main changes for the upcoming model will occur under the bonnet. The Japanese carmaker finally discards all diesel-powered units from the compact SUV lineup. So, 2020 Suzuki Vitara will use a 1.0-liter BoosterJet 3-cylinder engine, instead of the naturally aspirated 1.6-liter petrol drivetrain. However, the 1.4-liter BoosterJet powertrain is still on the Vitara’s rooster. But, it’s no longer part of the Vitara S model.
Instead, this engine will be an option for SZ-T and SZ5 models. For the SZ4 level, the 1.0-liter unit is the only option. One of the major advantages of the new Vitara is its low weight. Luckily, the redesign of the front fascia didn’t mess up thing too drastically. Even if you opt for the all-wheel-drive system, the curb weight is only 2,711 pounds.
2020 Suzuki Vitara 1.0 BoosterJet
Surely, the most important upgrade for the 2020 Suzuki Vitara is bringing in the new turbo 1.0-liter BoosterJet engine. This unit can produce 112 hp and 5,500 rpm. Also, the 1.0-liter drivetrain can be paired to AllGrip four-wheel drive. Moreover, a 6-speed automatic transmission is an option as well. The 3-cylinder variant uses a 5-speed manual gearbox as a standard, while its 1.4-liter companion works with a 6-speed transmission.
Yet, there’s a little difference how’s the car handles, with or without the AllGrip. So, you can fully enjoy the power of 1.0-liter mil, taking into account that this engine is very quiet and makes very little noise. But, around the 5,500 rpm, things may get a bit loud. Also, the gearing of the 5-speed transmission could be a little bit shorter, but it works decently with the engine just the way it is.
