Back in 2007, Renault launches the Koleos, at the time very similar vehicle to the Nissan Qashqai, and enter the crossover SUV arena. However, the Koleos wasn’t successful project. While Nissan’s model gains excellent numbers, the French company had to withdraw the Koleos in 2010. Now, it seems like the famous automaker has learned their lessons. The 2020 Renault Kadjar will get through a serious redesign before it hit the markets, with a more family-oriented look and performances.
Moreover, the interior will go through some major changes as well. As a result, the cabin will be broader and more comfortable. Also, the new Kadjar will offer a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine, besides the pair of Blue dCi diesel engines. The company will probably go green in the near future, from the Renault-Nissan partnership we can expect Kadjar Hybrid on the street shortly after the regular model.

2020 Renault Kadjar Redesign
The French company officially announced that the Kadjar will go through a redesign before production of the new generation begins. The announced changes and innovations may not seem so numerous and massive compared to the previous model. But, these changes will bring important improvements for exterior as well as for the cabin. At first glance, we can see that 2020 Renault Kadjar will keep the prominent C-shaped lights.
However, the LED daytime running lights now have integrated LED direction indicator. Also, higher trim levels will get remodeled LED fog lamps as a part of standard equipment. They reduce energy consumption by six times, in comparison to the conventional halogen lights. Furthermore, the bumper will get a new look as well, and additional chrome-plated decorations.
The new model will use 17-,18-, and 19-inch wheels for the top-line trim levels. All of these cosmetic updates are quite fine, but the most important one is under the bonnet of upcoming Kadjar. The company’s new 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol mill will be the main force of this compact SUV. This engine is a direct product of the partnership between Renault and Daimler.

Interior
The interior of upcoming 2020 Renault Kadjar will have many similarities with the latest Qashqai. The cabin will get some heavily aesthetic alterations, keeping only the air conditioning controls from the previous version. So, expect the more spacious interior in the best manner of pure SUV. The center console is lifted just enough to make it a perfect resting place for your elbow. The control panel is nicely arranged, broad and generally well thought out. You’ll find space for cups, phone or even smaller bottles.
Moreover, the comfort provided by the 60/40 split rear bench is more than enough for anyone to enjoy the ride. Also, the Renault is known as a class leader when it comes to the elbow room, and you can expect enough space, even in the rear with three adults packed in.
The 2020 Renault Kadjar will come in five different versions: Expression+, Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav, Signature Nav, and Signature S Nav. The entry-level model includes cruise control, front foglights, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio, air conditioning, and 16-inch steel wheels.
The Dynamique Nav adds 17-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, lane departure warning, keyless entry, and Renault’s R-Link2 infotainment system. The highlight of this system is a 7-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation. On top of that, Dynamique S Nav includes parking sensors, 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, and one-touch folding rear seats.
The Signature Nav trim adds LED highlights, a panoramic sunroof, a Nappa leather steering wheel, and a Bose premium sound system. The Signature S Nav includes all of that, plus a reversing camera, heated front seats, and blind-spot monitoring system.

Specs
We mentioned earlier new 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. But, it won’t be the only powertrain option of the new 2020 Renault Kadjar. The diesel drivetrain option has been upgraded by the selective reduction system (SCR). So, the rehabilitated Kadjer will offer two diesel engines to the customers.
The first one is Blue dCi mill that is capable to produce 115 hp. The second one is Blue dCi 150 powertrain that produce, as you can predict, 150 horsepower. Depending on the unit, a manual and EDC automatic gearbox will be available. Also, these transmissions can send power to both 4×2, or 4×4 configurations.
Hybrid
We also mentioned that the 2020 Renault Kadjar will have similar features as the latest Nissan Qashqai. Well, the partnership between these two automakers is a very strong one. The Japanese company is definitely one of the leaders in the electric market. So, this partnership and eventual cooperation may result in the hybridization of new Kadjar.
Taking into account the strong influence of the French green parties, this cooperation is very possible. France already planning to cut all conventional engines, both petrol, and diesel, beyond 2030. Surely, it is a long shot from this point of view, but the whole industry going for the green.
