The second generation of this small SUV has been presented late in the last year and these days, it is available on pretty much all markets around the world. The new generation comes with tons of novelties and, as it is available for some time, it is time for some real impressions. The first one that comes to mind is that the new model is roomier than before and that it comes with a full load of new tech features. Also, the new model is a little bit more conventional than the original, with more focus on utility and off-road performances. However, latest reports are suggesting that those fancy two-door versions will come as well, including 2020 Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Of course, there is also a new powertrain lineup, which also includes a new hybrid system in the offer.

2020 Range Rover Evoque Redesign

This redesign brings a lot of novelties, as we already mentioned. The first thing that we should mention is that the new model gets a new platform. Besides various technological upgrades, the new model also gets bigger. It gets about an inch in wheelbase while, interestingly, the overall length remains the same. Obviously, this resulted in more interior space, but also provided shorter overhangs, which should ensure a more off-road potential. Speaking of the off-road drive, the company claims that the new generation is far more capable and it’s true. While the original model was more about cosmetics, this one delivers much better performances, in a manner of a genuine Range Rover.

As we already mentioned, a classic 5-door SUV body style is currently the only one in the offer. However, the latest reports are suggesting that the 2020 Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be ready by the end of the year. On the other side, details about the three-door model are still unavailable.

Interior

Of course, lots of novelties can be found on the inside as well. The 2020 Range Rover Evoque interior has been completely redesigned and now comes even better. There is even more style, especially on the dashboard, which is highlighted by an optional dual-screen setup, the same one that can be found in the bigger Velar. Most materials are soft on touch and the overall impression is that the quality is amazing, which isn’t always the case with small premium cars. This one is definitely on par with the luxurious Volvo XC40.

2020 Range Rover Evoque Interior

As we already mentioned, the new model gains about an inch in wheelbase. So, there is more space on the inside. However, the second row is still pretty tight. On the other side, the front seats are very comfortable. They are massive and very supportive, also power-adjustable. When it comes to cargo space, you can count on 21.5 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 50.5 cubic feet of overall cargo room. These are pretty much average numbers for the class.

Trim Levels

When it comes to 2020 Range Rover Evoque configurations, there are six trim levels in total. Those would be – S, SE, First Edition, R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic SE and R-Dynamic HSE. The base S model already comes with standard features like 18-inch wheels, automatic wipers, power-folding heated mirrors, keyless ignition, front and rear parking sensors, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, and a rearview camera. Among interior features, some of the highlights are things like power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, 10-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot etc. As you can see, the list is pretty impressive and higher trims gradually offer more and more standard features and new engine options.

2020 Range Rover Evoque Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, there are two options in the offer. Base models feature a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which delivers 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Also, there is the 2020 Range Rover Evoque Hybrid, which features the same engine but coupled with a mild hybrid system. The total output goes up to 295 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which is an amount of power that will satisfy even the most demanding drivers. Both models come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which isn’t the best in class but works quite okay.

Also, some reports suggest that we could see 2020 Range Rover Evoque Diesel by the end of the year. Of course, we count on a well-known 2.0-liter turbodiesel that delivers around 180 horsepower.

2020 Range Rover Evoque Pricing and Competition

Considering that there are various configurations in the offer, it’s not strange that 2020 Range Rover Evoque comes in a pretty wide price range. Base models go around 42.500 dollars, while top-range models could go up to 58.000 dollars.

When it comes to the competition, there are several amazing models in the class. Some of the segment leaders are models like BMW X1 and Volvo XC40. Also, there are crossovers like Mercedes-Benz GLA, Lexus UX, Infiniti QX30 etc.
