2020 Porsche Macan Changes, Release Date

Although the Porsche 911 is the company’s most famous model, the Porsche Macan is the best-seller. The compact-crossover SUVs is the new trendy vehicle, and the Porsche recognizes the chance to jumps in this class, adapt and provide an excellent vehicle. The 2020 Porsche Macan will offer all-wheel drive, and powerful turbocharged engines – a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder for the base model, and 3.0-liter V6, for stronger Macan S.

However, the new model will cost more than similar vehicles, like the Audi Q5, Jaguar F-Pace, and BMW X3/X4. But, the new Macan is much better with performances. This vehicle is very elegant and stylish five-door luxury-crossover SUV, with magnificent interior and powerful engines, that will easily accomplish any task.


2020 Porsche Macan Changes

The upcoming 2020 Porsche Macan won’t get any major upgrades, regarding the overall appearance and styling. The 2019 Macan already go through a serious redesign, and drastic changes are not needed at the moment. Still, the 2020 model will get a revitalized front end and a brand-new single-bar taillight.

As for the interior, the new 10.9-inch touch screen will be installed and a couple of features will get updates, that we will discuss later in this review. Under the Macan’s shell, some minor modifications are made to suspension and steering. Moreover, the 2020 Macan S will upgrade to Porche’s latest 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine.


Although new 2020 Porsche Macan isn’t as spacious as some rivals in the class, no one can match the level of details, design, and functionality of this interior. The ignition is placed to the left of the steering wheels, as is the tradition with these vehicles. The newly-designed instrumentation is directly in front of the driver, with the tachometer in the center. Moreover, on the flanks, you’ll find the speedometer and digital readout screen.

The central part of the dashboard occupies 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Also, the customers may opt for a smaller steering wheel from the 911 model. The front seats are very good and firmly installed. The central console may seem a little bit unwieldy with all the buttons and controls, but it’s actually very logically designed and user-friendly. The storage space is very limited, new Macan offers only 17.7 feet. However, with the 40/20/40 configuration of rear seats, it expands up to 53 cubic feet.



As we already said, new 2020 Porshe Macan will bring some changes, but the majority of the exterior features will stay the same. One of the improved things will be new nose with full LED highlights. On the backside, remodeled LED rear taillight goes along the full width of the tailgate. Furthermore, the upcoming Macan will get wider wheels and tires. But, the traditional Porsche look will be maintained, and the new model will follow the design language of larger Cayenne and Panamera sedan.

Standard wheels for this model will be 18-inchers, and they are perfect for a smoother ride. But, 2020 Macan will offer new 21-inch wheels as well, with the S model. These wheels will enhance both traction and visual appeal. Also, two new colors will be available – Mamba Green Metallic and Miami Blue.


Standard and Additional Equipment

The base model of the forthcoming 2020 Porsche Macan will cost a couple of thousands less than the Macan S. Still, it will come with a very decent amount of equipment. The base model offer tri-zone climate control, a rearview camera with front/rear parking assist, and a lane-departure warning system. Furthermore, power-folding side mirrors, 18-inch wheels, and power-operated liftgate are available as well, as part of the standard package. The highlight of the infotainment system is a 10.9-inch multi-touch screen with navigation. Porsche Connect apps, Bluetooth connectivity, and a WLAN hotspot will be available on all trim levels. Moreover, the Macan S models will add rain-sensing windshield wipers and tinted and thermally insulated glass.

The famous German company is well-know for its broad option packages. The new Porsche Macan is no exception. For example, customers will have to choose between fourteen different wheel options. Also, there’s an adaptive 18-way sport seat, Google Earth integration, Apple CarPlay, and Porsche Connect Plus module with wireless internet. The top-quality sound is secured via a 16-speaker Burmester audio system. On top of that, you can upgrade the performance with Porche Torque Vectoring Plus package, and special carbon-ceramic brakes. The company recommends Sport Chrono Package with Sport Plus mode, dash-mounted analog/digital stopwatch, and launch control.

2020 Porsche Macan Engine

Under the hood of the forthcoming 2020 Porsche Macan will be a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. This unit can produce 248 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. That’s powerful enough to launch this vehicle form 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. However, if you opt for the Sport Chrono package, the 0-60 mph acceleration will be 6.1 seconds. Also, with just over 3,900 pounds this is the lightest model so far.

The Macan S will employ the same engine as Cayenne and Panamera. It’s a 3.0-liter turbo V6, that goes from 0-60 mpg for 5.1 seconds, and produces 348 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. This unit places the turbocharger between the engine’s cylinders. In the Porsche, they call it the “hot-V”. This setup provides better turbo response time, it also lowers the overall center of gravity. All models will come with a 7-speed PDL automatic gearbox. Also, all models will have an all-wheel-drive system. All models will include an auto start/stop system, that improves fuel efficiency. The new Porsche Macan with a V6 engine can tow up to 4,400 pounds.

Release Date and Price

The arriving 2020 Porsche Macan will come with an MSRP starting at $50,950. This price includes the $1,050 destination charge. The luxurious model, Macan S will cost significantly more. It starts at $59,700 and adds a vast amount of additional equipment. However, the additional packages and features can easily push new Macan price tag over $100K mark. With these prices, this five-door luxury crossover SUV is among the premium models of the compact-luxury class.

The rivals like Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and Audi Q5 starts below the Porsche Macan. New Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Jaguar F-Pace also start a couple of thousands below upcoming Macan. The famous German company won’t rush with the debut of a new model. They planned to fully develop the GT3 RS version, so that could significantly delay the release date. Still, we expect that the 2020 Porsche Macan will be ready for the showrooms early next year.
