The hybrid setup will boost the fuel economy numbers even further. New setup won’t combine a 2.5-liter powertrain with electric motors. Instead, the new Murano will use the existing 3.5-liter V6 engine. With this setup, the new model will be able to compete with other vehicles in the segment. For instance, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Honda Pilot Hybrid will be presented in 2020.
Furthermore, a 3.5-liter will boost the power output to 300 hp and the fuel economy to 29 mpg combined. On the other hand, the petrol version returns 29 mpg on a highway. The Hybrid version is estimated to return 30/29 mpg for city highway drive. The Hybrid version will use the same transmission as the regular model, with both FWD and AWD setup available.
Release Date and Price
The price for the 2020 Nissan Murano starts around $32,000, for the base S model. This price includes the $1,000 destination and shipping fee. Furthermore, the Platinium model will cost $43,000. However, most customers will go with the SL trim.
This model has an MSRP starting around $40,000. Adding the all-wheel-drive cost $1,600 for any trim level. With these prices, 2020 Nissan Murano is in line with Kia Sorento, VW Atlas, and Toyota Highlander. The release date of the new model is set to first quartal of 2020.
