2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

The 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is coming with some nice aesthetical changes. Those are the latest reports about this mid-size SUV, which has been around for more than two decades. The original model came in 1998 and we have seen three generations of it since then. The current model has been around since 2015 and considering that the competition is getting tougher, this update seems natural. It is primarily a facelift, which brings some notable visual changes on both ends of the vehicle.

However, there is more. It also comes with nice changes on the inside, including a new infotainment system with a new touchscreen. Allegedly, we are also about to see a completely new, digital instrument cluster. On the other side, the engine lineup is about to remain the same. There are three engines in the offer, but not all of them can be found in all markets. The new 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport should hit the market in the third quarter of the year.

2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Changes

Changes for this update are numerous. Of course, the focus is on aesthetics. There is a new styling, significantly updated on both ends of the SUV. Also, there are notable changes on the inside. However, the overall design remains pretty much the same. Mechanics have remained untouched, so we are practically talking about the same vehicle that came four years ago, despite the novelties.

Exterior

Of course, the most notable are exterior changes. This facelift brings a lot of novelties in terms of aesthetics. Of course, most of them came to the front. The 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comes with changes on parts like front fascia, grille, headlights and bumper. Practically, the new version follows the brand’s latest design language almost entirely. Still, there are some minor differences compared to the recent update corporal sibling, the L200 trucks. The two models share many parts, starting from almost completely the same mechanics.

On the rear end, changes are subtle. The first thing you’ll notice is that taillights are practically the same, while the biggest modifications can be noticed on the rear bumper. Also, the roof spoiler has been slightly reshaped.

Finally, there are those kinds of novelties that are typical for every mid-cycle update. This refers to things like new color options and new sets of wheels. The rest of the vehicle remains the same.

Interior

Notable changes are coming on the inside as well. This mid-size SUV has always been characterized by a well-built cabin. The new model won’t be an exception, though we won’t see too many changes for this facelift when it comes to the overall cabin layout. On the other side, several tweaks to the dashboard are about to come.

Without any doubt, the most prominent novelty will be a new instrument cluster. According to the latest reports, it will be completely digital. This would definitely have a highly positive impact on the overall visual appeal. However, it is still unclear whether this is going to be a standard feature, or reserved for higher trim levels only.

Another significant novelty is a new touchscreen. It measures 8 inches and comes with completely new software. The new infotainment system should bring improvements in many aspects. It will work faster and also come with more features, including smartphone integration.

The rest of the cabin is about to remain the same. Of course, novelties in terms of new interior color schemes seem quite likely. Also, the list of standard equipment should be expanded as well. However, the base trim level organization should remain the same.

2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Engines

Unlike other aspects of the SUV, this one will remain the same. The 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will carry on with familiar engines in the offer. There are three units in total, but not all of them are available on a certain market. For example, an older-generation 2.5-liter diesel unit is in the offer in developing markets, such as Indonesia. This engine delivers around 130 horsepower. On the other side, most a much newer 2.4-liter unit is available in most parts of the world. It delivers around 180 horsepower and it is definitely the most popular choice for this SUV, thanks to a decent amount of power and excellent fuel economy.

Finally, there is a well-known 3.0-liter V6 engine, which delivers around 220 horsepower. It may not be the most efficient engine you can find, but it is still a popular choice, thanks to very high reliability.

2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Release Date and Price

Considering all the changes, it seems logical to see 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport a little bit earlier than usual. It won’t come to most markets at the same time but should hit most of them in the third quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, it also varies depending on the market. UK models start at around 36.000 GBP.
