Trim Levels

The base model is simply called Sierra. It starts at around 30.000 dollars and it is a pretty basic truck in terms of standard equipment. The list of standard features includes things like air conditioning, a rearview camera, a tilt-only steering wheel, Bluetooth, a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, and a six-speaker sound system. Also, the only available engine is a 4.3-liter V6 with around 285 horsepower, which comes in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The SLE adds a lot of interesting things, such as various camera-based systems. Still, the biggest upgrade is actually the fact that you can choose between a 2.7-liter turbo-four engine that is good for about 310 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter inline-six, which delivers around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

The Elevation trim comes in Double Cab version only and adds things like a remote-locking tailgate, LED foglights, and two USB ports in the back seat. It goes around 41.000 dollars.

The mid-range SLT model offers a great balance between price and standard equipment. When it comes to 2020 GMC Sierra HD models, the first thing you have to decide is whether you need a 3/4-ton truck or 1-ton truck. The first one is known as Sierra 2500 and it offers a great balance between capabilities and comfort. On the other side, Sierra 3500 is more about towing and hauling and it also costs more.

Both models are available with two engines. The base one is a new 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine, which is good for about 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. An optional 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel delivers around 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque and it is a much better choice for towing. With this engine, the 2500 model can tow up to 18.500 pounds, which are pretty respectable ratings for the class.

When it comes to the 2020 GMC Sierra 3500, the max towing capacity goes up to 21.500 pounds. Of course, you can opt for dual-rear-wheel configuration, which increases towing capacity all-away up to over 35.000 pounds.
