It’s been a long time since we saw some novelties from the Journey. With its decade-old design, it’s no wonder it can’t compete with other models in the class. The current, original model has been around since 2008, which seems like way too long time for today’s industry standards. Moreover, we haven’t seen any bigger update for years either. The last time this model was updated was in 2011, so it’s no wonder that most reports suggest its soon discontinuation.
From what we heard from the company in the past few years, it looks like they also don’t know what to do with this model. Latest reports suggest that the nameplate won’t be discontinued. This indicated a redesign in the near future. Most likely, the current model will carry on for another year and the come completely new sometime in about a year or two.

2020 Dodge Journey Design
Considering that this is probably going to be the last production year, the 2020 Dodge Journey is most likely about to come without more important changes. This is a quite old can, so you definitely won’t be able to count on too many strong points. First of all, it rides on an old version of the
Of course, the design is outdated in terms of aesthetic as well. As we already mentioned, the current generation is present for more than a decade, while the last time we saw updates was more than seven years ago. Even for that occasion, the novelties were pretty modest, so we can legally say that the current model looks pretty much the same as the one the initially came to the market years ago.
Interior
While the Journey seems outdated in most aspects, the cabin actually looks pretty nice. Despite the age, it is nice and features pretty good overall quality, as many surfaces are made of soft materials. The cabin looks nice, while the front seats are very massive, with decent support. On the other side, the second row is a little bit tighter than you would normally expect from a crossover of this size. Things are even worse in the third row, which is best to be left for children. Another disappointing thing about this crossover is the cargo area. Practically, you can count on just around 10 cubic feet behind the third row. We hope things will much better when the 2020 Dodge Journey replacement arrives.

When it comes to standard equipment, the 2020 Dodge Journey won’t feature too many changes. Despite the age, it will be quite decent. Base models are equipped with cloth upholstery, 4.3-inch touchscreen, USB, six-speaker audio
Engine
Things under the hood will also remain pretty much the same. There are two familiar gasoline units in the offer. Base versions feature a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which is good for about 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims are equipped with a well-known 3.6-liter V6. It is good for about 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to the fuel economy, both engines are typical for the class.
The four-cylinder engine returns around 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, while the V6 is good for about 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Numerous reports were suggesting 2020 Dodge Journey SRT hi-performance model, but it looks like this won’t happen.

2020 Dodge Journey Release Date and Price
Given the fact that we won’t see any important change for the next year, the 2020 Dodge Journey should hit the market sometime late in the year. Base models will go around 23.000 dollars. As we already mentioned, a complete redesign is expected in the near future. At this point, we don’t know too many details. However, we can say for sure that the new Dodge Journey 2020 definitely won’t arrive.
