The 2020 Chevy SUV Lineup is about to come with a lot of novelties. The popular carmaker prepares a lot of new things for the next year. We are about to see some completely new model, while many will also receive big updates. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a completely redesigned Chevy Suburban. Also, a familiar nameplate, the Trailblazer, is coming back, this time as a small crossover.
Another big novelty is a new version of the entry-level Trax, which will come with tons of improvements. On the other side, models like Traverse, Equinox and Blazer are still pretty fresh model, without the need for more important updates at the moment. Still, some smaller novelties are possible.
All in all, the 2020 Chevrolet SUV Lineup will be very interesting to see.
2020 Chevy Blazer
The Blazer came back recently, after a pretty long hiatus. Therefore, we don’t expect bigger changes for the second production year. The 2020 Chevy Blazer specs will remain pretty much the same. The new model is just another crossover, although we all expected to see a real body-on-frame SUV. Of course, it has various strong points, but the competition is also pretty tough.
Despite being a completely new and fresh, it’s not among the highest ranged models in the class. The 2020 Chevy Blazer interior will continue to be its weakest point. Compared to segment standards, interior quality is disappointing. Low-grade materials are all around the cabin, while aesthetics are questionable as well. Another disappointment is the trunk. The 2020 Chevy Blazer cargo space will remain the same, which means around 30 cubic feet behind the second row, which is way below average for the class.
On the other side, no one can deny that Chevy offers a variety of versions, with different levels of equipment, different engines etc. The trim level organization will remain the same, so the entry-level L trim will continue with its pretty affordable price. On the other side, 2020 Chevy Blazer Premier will be the top-level option once again.
Under the hood, there are two familiar engines in the offer. Base models come with a 193-hp four-cylinder, while the optional V6 delivers 308 ponies. A hi-performance version has been rumored, as well as the off-road 2020 Chevy Blazer ZR2 version. Of course, these models would come with tons of upgrades, though we definitely won’t see things like 2020 Chevy Blazer 500-hp version, as some reports suggest.
When it comes to the 2020 Chevy Blazer price, it will remain pretty much the same as for the current model, which starts at around 29.000 dollars.
Trailblazer
This is one of the biggest novelties in Chevy’s lineup for the next year. Talks about the comeback have been around for years and the new Trailblazer is finally here. However, most of you will probably be disappointed once you see 2020 Chevy Trailblazer specs. Unlike its predecessor, the new model is a crossover, a quite small crossover, positioned between Trax and Equinox.
A unibody design definitely won’t bring any particular off-road performances, but the styling will definitely be its strong point. It follows the design language which has been recently established by a mid-size Blazer, which took a lot of inspiration from the iconic Camaro. The model has been designed for two biggest car markets in the world.
Therefore, the specs will be different. On one side, there is the 2020 Chevy Trailblazer China version, which will probably come with a 1.4-liter turbo engine and a little bit shorter list of standard equipment. On the other side, the North American model could use a more powerful 1.5-liter turbo-four from Equinox.
Also, the 2020 Chevy Trailblazer USA model could also come in some kind of hi-performance version. It would feature more powerful engine and various chassis upgrades. However, this is still just a rumor. It could come with some of Chevy’s famous badges, for example as the 2020 Chevy Trailblazer SS. We are still waiting to hear something from the officials.
The new model will come soon, though we are still waiting for the details. When it goes to the 2020 Chevy Trailblazer price, we presume that base models will go around 22/23.000 dollars.
2020 Chevy Equinox
The current generation of this compact crossover has been introduced a couple of years ago and the company feels it is still early for bigger changes. Therefore, the upcoming model will be a typical carryover. It is a good SUV, but definitely not the best one in the class. Still, it has several strong points. A couple of changes will be made, but the 2020 Chevy Equinox release date will be scheduled for a typical time of year.
For example, the 2020 Chevy Equinox interior will continue to be among the most comfortable ones in the class. There is plenty of leg and headroom for all passengers, while the cargo area is spacious as well. The interior quality could be better, but a nice list of standard features seems like a good compensator. The trim level organization will remain the same and once again, the 2020 Chevy Equinox LT will be our recommendation. This is a mid-grade version, which offers the best balance between price and quality, while there are some optional packages in the offer as well.
The current model is still quite fresh, though there are some changes for the next. The company added a couple of new standard safety features, but also dropped the turbodiesel option, so gasoline units will remain the only options, which in practice means 2020 Chevy Equinox mpg ratings will be higher. Base models will continue with a 1.5-liter turbo-four, while the peppy 2.0-liter turbo unit seems like a great upgrade. With the base engine, the 2020 Chevy Equinox gas mileage will go around 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
When it comes to the 2020 Chevy Equinox price, base models will go around 24.000 dollars.
2020 Chevy Trax
The 2020 Chevy Trax redesign is another big novelty in the company’s lineup for the next year. Although Chevy tries to keep details as secret, the testing model has been spotted on the road. It still carries a bit of camouflage, but we can make some predictions about it. When it comes to base 2020 Chevy Trax specs, we don’t expect bigger changes in size. The new model will continue to be the smallest crossover in the company’s range.
On the other side, count on a completely new styling. Of course, it is still early for a 2020 Chevy Trax Review, but we have no doubt that the new model will follow the brand’s latest design language and comes with a lot of details borrowed from the new Blazer and Trailblazes. We count on the same face and similar overall shape, of course, in a smaller package.
The new model should come by the end of the year. We presume that the 2020 Chevy Trax release date will be scheduled for some of the major car shows. Under the hood, it should carry on with the same 1.4-liter engine, which currently delivers around 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. We expect a couple of upgrades on the engine, but more in terms of getting better fuel economy ratings. The 2020 Chevy Trax mpg ratings need to be much better compared to the outgoing model.
When it comes to the 2020 Chevy Trax price, we don’t expect bigger deviations from the current model, which starts at around 21.500 dollars.
Suburban
Without any doubt, the biggest novelty for the next year will definitely be a completely new version of the flagship SUV. The next generation is about to come with lots of improvements. The 2020 Chevy Suburban spy photos clearly show that the test model is in an advanced stage of development and that should be done first.
Some reports suggest we could see the 2020 Chevy Suburban concept or prototype version first. In any case, we have no doubt that the core of the new model will be a new T1 platform, the same one that underprints the Silverado. Therefore, many reports suggest the same front face.
This may not be the best styling solution in terms of aesthetics. Still, we can take these rumors about 2020 Chevy Suburban ugly appearance with ease, as we are still waiting for test model to take off the camouflage.
In any case, there is no doubt that the new model will bring improvements in many aspects. One of the things that come to mind is a new, independent rear suspension. It should be a standard feature and it should significantly improve the ride quality. Under the hood, we expect to see familiar units in the offer. There are two well-known V8 engines, but some reports also suggest we could see a new turbo-four in the offer as well. The 2020 Chevy Suburban RST performance version will carry on with a 6.2-liter V8, though we expect to see some slight power boost.
Finally, there is a chance to see an oil-burner in the offer, though we are still waiting to hear something from the official in terms of 2020 Chevy Suburban Diesel.
2020 Chevy Tahoe
Unlike the Suburban, the redesigned Tahoe won’t be ready for the next year. According to the latest reports, the 2020 Chevy Suburban redesign won’t happen. We’ll be seeing the current model for another year, which would mean you can count on the same design characteristics.
Still, don’t exclude the possibility to see some kind of 2020 Chevy Suburban concept version, which would preview the next generation. Some rumors even suggest that this concept could come with a new body style, as the 2020 Chevy Suburban 2-door version. In our opinion, this doesn’t seem very likely. In any case, the production model will continue with familiar pros and cons. This also means that the 2020 Chevy Suburban interior will remain pretty tight for the class, with a tight third row and quite small cargo area.
When it comes to 2020 Chevy Suburban gas mileage, count on pretty average ratings for the class, around 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway with the base engine.
Since there are no changes to come for the next year, the 2020 Chevy Suburban MSRP should remain pretty much the same, which would mean around 48.000 dollars for base versions.
2020 Chevy Traverse
Many models in 2020 Chevy SUV lineup will come with novelties, but we can’t say that for the company’s biggest crossover. Practically, new 2020 Chevy Traverse colors are the only novelties we could expect to see in the next year. Other than that, things will remain the same.
The current generation has been around for less than two years, so it seems early for updates. Given the overall size, the 2020 Chevy Traverse interior dimensions will continue to be the main strength. You can hardly find a mid-size crossover that is such generous in terms of interior space. Also, the trim level organization is about to remain the same. It starts with the base L trims and ends with the 2020 Chevy Traverse High Country.
The biggest change for the next year will be under the hood. A turbo-four unit won’t be in the offer anymore. So, all versions will come with a well-known 308-hp V6 engine. Some reports are suggesting a 2020 Chevy Traverse diesel version, but we still don’t have any reliable information about the new powertrain.
When it comes to the 2020 Chevy Traverse release date, expect to see it sometime late in the year.
