After the recent launch, the revived Blazer is about to continue in the pretty much same way, at least when it comes to standard models. We are about to see a familiar design, which is a big departure from some Blazer models from the past. The new model is a crossover, which combines attractive design and sporty driving characteristics. Normally, we wouldn’t expect more than that for the second production year. A couple of new standard features and exterior colors would be all. However, the company has different plans. We are about to see a new version, under the famous “SS” badge, which will deliver much sportier performances. This model will come with a more powerful engine, as well as with various chassis tunings and a couple of distinctive styling details. The 2020 Chevy Blazer release date should be scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
2020 Chevy Blazer Design
Standard models will continue with a familiar design, which was introduced recently. Despite the familiar nameplate, the Blazer came as a pretty much all-new model. In terms of base 2020 Chevy Blazer specs, we should say that this is a crossover now, instead of a traditional body-on-frame SUV. Therefore, it is more oriented to on-road drive. It rides on a familiar C1 platform, which is used for numerous GM models, including GMC Acadia and Cadillac XT5.
These three models are very close in terms of mechanics. On the other side, the Blazer comes with its own styling, which is pretty distinctive even for Chevy’s standards. It features pretty attractive sharp lines and we definitely don’t expect any notable change for the 2020 Chevy Blazer.
When it comes to the 2020 Chevy Blazer SS, this version will come with a couple of upgrades. We count on a new suspension and brakes, as well as on a slight chassis reinforcement. Also, it should come with a couple of upgrades in terms of styling. Count on slightly revised bumpers, new wheels and several more details that will emphasize its sporty character.
2020 Chevy Blazer Interior
The 2020 Chevy Blazer interior will also continue in the same way. This is both good and bad. The good side of this cabin is a long list of standard equipment. This refers to both tech goodies and the latest driver aids. On the other side, the overall quality is a little bit disappointing. Materials definitely aren’t on part with most models in the class.
Also, the cargo area is one of the smallest in the class, as you can count on just 30.5 cubic feet behind rear seats. On the other side, we have to say that ergonomics are pretty good. Seats are adjustable in all directions and it definitely isn’t hard to find your perfect driving position.
The new SS version could come with a couple of distinctive details on the inside as well. We count on a couple of sporty details on the dash, sports seats with more support and several more upgrades, including some additional standard equipment.
As we already mentioned, this crossover is pretty strong in the aspect of standard features. In terms of tech goodies, all models come with things like an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB etc. In higher trims, you can also get tech goodies like Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless charging, a navigation system, premium Bose audio system and more.
In order to offer an affordable starting price, Chevy offered only a rearview camera in base models, which is disappointing. However, things are much better once you step in higher trim levels, where you can get pretty much everything. Some of the notable safety systems are forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection with automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear camera mirror, automatic high beams, a safety alert seat, blind spot monitoring and many more.
2020 Chevy Blazer Engines
When it comes to the 2020 Chevy Blazer engine lineup, you can count two familiar units that are available in the current model as well. Base models will continue with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which delivers 193 horsepower. Higher trims feature a well-known 3.6-liter V6 unit, which delivers 308 hp. Some reports suggest we could see a new turbo-four engine in the offer for the next year, though we are still waiting for the official confirmation.
Finally, there is the new 2020 Chevy Blazer SS to come. This hi-performance version is expected to come eight cylinders, though some reports also suggest Cadillac’s efficient twin-turbo V6 with around 400 hp.
2020 Chevy Blazer Release Date and Price
The new model is expected to come sometime late in the year and the standard 2020 Chevy Blazer price should continue in the same range, which goes between 29.000 and 46.000 dollars, roughly, Of course, expect that the 2020 Chevy Blazer SS price will be even higher.
