We are getting ready for the third generation of this coupe crossover, which is about to come soon, as the 2020 BMW X6. The testing model has been spotted for a couple of times so far and the last time it happened was last month. From what we can see on the test mule, the new model is almost ready and should hit showrooms pretty soon.
We expect to see a plethora of improvements over the outgoing model. This refers primarily to mechanics and driving dynamics, as well as on the styling. The 2020 BMW X6 will come with its recognizable shape, but also with the company’s latest design language, which can be seen on the recently-introduced X5 model. Also, count on a fine power boost and new tech on the inside. All in all, this redesign will be very interesting. We will see in which direction Bavarian carmaker is going as the competition is tougher.

2020 BMW X6 Redesign
The upcoming redesign is about to bring a lot of novelties. The first thing that comes to mind in the platform. Of course, the new 2020 BMW X6 will utilize the company’s new CLAR platform, which debuted last year with the new 7 Series and also underprints the new X5 mid-size crossover. The latter one will serve as a basis for the new coupe crossover, particularly in terms of mechanics, which will be almost identical. This “almost” particularly refers to the suspension setup.
As you probably know, the new X5 sits a little bit higher than before. This one won’t go in the same direction but rather quite the opposite. It will sit lower, in order to provide not just sportier look and better driving characteristics, but more practical ins and outs, especially when it comes to rear doors. Compared to the outgoing model, it should also feature a slightly longer wheelbase.
2020 BMW X6 Styling
Of course, the upcoming redesign brings new styling as well. Despite the testing model still wears a camouflage, we are pretty sure about most aesthetics of the new model. Without any doubt, the front end will be identical to the new X5 model. That is the brand’s new design language, which brings mostly evolutionary changes.
Further development of the famous kindle grille goes is such a direction that it becomes larger and bolder. On the other side, the roof line is a little bit different and ends in a similar angle as the new X4, which would also indicate redesigned tailgate. From the side, we expect more muscles than before, with more massive fender flares and similar parts.
2020 BMW X6 Interior
The 2020 BMW X6 interior design will be mostly a copy of the new X5’s cabin. This particularly refers to the front part of the cabin, including the dashboard, which should feature pretty much identical layout. This dashboard is characterized by pretty smooth lines and standard digital instrument cluster. On the other side, the back part of the cabin will be much tighter. Due to a coupe layout, count on less headroom and smaller cargo area. Moreover, we could even see less legroom but all in all, things should be better compared to the current model.

2020 BMW X6 Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, count on a whole range of familiar BMW engines. Base models will come with a familiar 3.0-liter inline-six, which is good for about 340 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. Of course, we count on a large 4.4-liter V8 as well. This engine will be tuned to 462 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.
In other parts of the world, the 2020 BMW X6 will be available with diesel engines as well. Once again, count on two familiar units. The first one is a well-known 3.0-liter inline six with around 265 horsepower, while the other one is a familiar V8 engine with 400 horses and 560 pound-feet of torque.
When could we expect to see the 2020 BMW X6 M?
The 2020 BMW X6 M should come right after standard models. Of course, we count on tons of modifications, starting from a lot of unique styling details, both outside and on the inside. Furthermore, we will see a completely new suspension setup, new brakes and other modifications that are typical for the Bavarian performance department. Still, the most important is definitely a new engine. The X6 M will feature the same 4.4-liter V8, but tuned up to around 600 horsepower, which should ensure 0-60 time is about 4 seconds.

2020 BMW X6 Release Date and Price
We can’t predict the exact 2020 BMW X6 release date but have no doubt that the new model will have a premiere at some of the upcoming major car shows. When it comes to the 2020 BMW X6 price, we don’t expect a bigger departure from the current model, which starts at around 63.000 dollars.
