2020 BMW X3 M

The current generation of the Bavarian compact crossover has been around for less than two years and the company prepares a huge novelty for the next year. No, it won’t be an early facelift, we are about to see another M-badged version in BMW’s range. Of course, it will come with tons of upgrades, starting from significantly more power and various visual and mechanical improvements. On the other side, standard models are about to continue in the same way. We are about to see a familiar design, without bigger deviations in any aspect. Count on the same, powerful and dynamic, but yet practical crossover, which leads the segment in many aspects. Other than a new hi-performance version, bigger changes won’t come. Eventually, the 2020 BMW X3 could come with a couple of new color options and more standard features. Expect to see it late in the year.

Tons of Power!

By far, the biggest novelty for the next year is a new hi-performance version, the 2020 BMW X3 M. Finally, BMW will have something to compete with most powerful compact crossovers, performance versions of Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Mercedes GLC.

2020 BMW X3 M

Of course, a new engine takes a central spot. This crossover borrows and upgrades the new 3.0-liter inline-six from the 3 Series. For this occasion, a max output goes around 473 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Moreover, the 2020 BMW X3 M Competition will come as well. This package includes several upgrades, including a power boost, so a max output goes up to 503 hp, which makes it the second most powerful model in the class, after Stelvio Quadrifoglio. With such amount of power, you can count on 0-60 time under three seconds, while a max speed goes close to 180 mph.

Of course, these are not the only changes. This hi-performance version comes with an upgraded styling, as well as with all those mechanical modifications that are typical for M-badged models, starting from a new suspension, brakes and more.

On the inside, a performance character of this model is highly accentuated, as there are new, racing seats, tons of carbon fiber and other things.

2020 BMW X3 Design

When it comes to standard models, things will remain pretty much the same. It is still early for a facelift, so the 2020 BMW X3 will carry on with familiar aesthetics, as well as with a design that is based on the company’s new CLAR architecture. Practically, the best we could see in the upcoming model could be some new color options.

Interior

Same goes for the interior design. The 2020 BMW X3’ cabin will continue in the same way, which is definitely a good thing. This crossover features pretty good overall quality. All materials are great, though we have to say that some competitors, like Audi Q5, feature more style on the inside. On the other side, the X3 is amazing in terms of comfort and functionality. Both rows of seats are very generous in terms of space, while the overall comfort is at a high level as well. Additionally, the cargo area is among the biggest in the class. You can count on about 29 cubic feet behind rear seats, while the overall capacity goes up to 63 cubic feet.

Safety

Besides excellent crash test results, this crossover also offers a long list of driver aids. 2020 BMW X3 Engines

In terms of the powertrain, standard models will continue with two familiar units. The base 2.0-liter turbo-four already delivers pretty good performances. It is good for about 250 horses. An options six-cylinder is even more impressive, as it delivers around 355 horsepower. RWD is standard, while all-wheel drive is available. When it comes to fuel economy, count on 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the base four-cylinder engine. These are pretty good mpg ratings, though models like Acura RDX are better.

2020 BMW X3 Release Date and Price

The 2020 BMW X3 Release date should be scheduled for the last quarter of the years. Also, we don’t expect bigger changes in price, at least when it comes to standard models, which currently start around 41.000 dollars.

When it comes to the 2020 BMW X3 M price, exact details are still unavailable. However, we presume this version will probably go around 65.000 dollars.
