Full-size trucks are the most popular vehicles in North America and, therefore, all major carmakers are finding different ways of competing. Among numerous trim levels, packages and special versions, this is one of the most interesting that Chevrolet is about to offer. A few years ago, the company offered a special trim package that features a nice list of additional features, mainly in terms of cargo protection.
Meanwhile, the famous truck has been redesigned and many experts count on a new version with this package, which should come as 2019 Silverado High Desert. The recent redesign has brought lots of novelties. When it comes to this package, we expect even more unique features than before. This time, we are about to see a fine amount of unique visual details as well, if we can rely on rumors. Still, the 2019 Chevy Silverado High Desert still waits for the official confirmation.
2019 Silverado High Desert Design
In terms of base design characteristics, this version won’t be different than any other version of the truck. We are about to see the same layout that has been introduced a couple of months ago. As you probably know, the new generation of the famous truck comes with lots of improvements. There is a new styling, new platform, massive weight reduction, new engine and much more.
The 2019 Silverado High Desert package will come with a similar approach as before. This means that we can count on a similar cargo protection, that keeps the bed and other areas from dirt, mud, snow, rain etc. Cargo divider was one of the highlights in the previous model. It was used to either protect the bed or to provide use of full bed length. Also, the previous version featured magnetic ride control, so we can presume that the new model will come with upgrades in terms of suspension and chassis as well.
Besides all those mechanical upgrades, 2019 Silverado High Desert package could also bring few visual novelties this time. It is still hard to make some more precise predictions, though we can count on things like different plastic surfaces and similar details. Other than that, things should remain unchanged.
Interior
This is the tricky part of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Desert. In the previous generation, this package didn’t feature any important addition in terms of interior design. This seems logical, especially if we consider that this package was available in three trim levels. Count on a similar approach in the new model as well.
Trim Levels
As we’ve just mentioned, the High Desert package should be available in three trim levels. Those would be LT, LTZ and High Country.
The LT sits somewhere in the middle of Silverado’s trim level organization. Therefore, it is easy to conclude that this package is not available in base models. It comes along with standard features such as LED headlights, a tailgate damper, alloy wheels etc. On the inside, this trim level includes things like an 8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, Wi-Fi hotspot, steering wheel with mounted controls and much more. Also, it is important to mention that this trim includes a new turbo inline-four engine.
If you choose an LTZ trim level, you can count on a nice upgrade. The list of standard features expands with a V8 engine and lots of convenience features. Some of the highlights are leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, navigation etc.
The 2019 Silverado High Country High Desert will be one of the best-equipped versions in the offer. This model brings upgrades in various aspects. First of all, there are visual upgrades like 20-inch wheels, power-up-and-down tailgate, chrome side step rails etc. On the inside, you can count on a high level of comfort and convenience. Some of the highlights are things like ventilated front seats, parking sensors, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert. 7-speaker Bose audio system and much more.
2019 Silverado High Desert Engines
When it comes to powertrain, it all depends on the trim level you choose. As we already mentioned, the LT comes with a new, very efficient 2.7-liter turbo inline-four engine, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The LTZ comes with a 5.3-liter V8, which features a max output of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Finally, a 6.2-liter V8 is standard in High Country and optional in LTZ trim level. This unit is good for about 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
2019 Silverado High Country High Desert Release Date and Price
The new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is on the market for some time. However, we are still waiting for the High Desert package. Most likely, this version will become available in early 2019. When it comes to the price, don’t expect too big increase compared to the current prices. This means that the cheapest version with this package will go around 33/34.000 dollars.
