2019 Nissan Titan XD

The Japanese company already handle the light-duty trucks segment very well with the regular Titan. Now, with the launching of the new 2019 Nissan Titan XD the company offers to customers a vehicle that rides better than its heavy-duty rivals. Also, the customers will surely value extremely comfortable Zero Gravity seats and cool-cargo bed option.

The appearance of the new model is pure of a heavy-duty pickup: a logy body, a well-built frame, and a torquey-diesel drivetrain option. The Titan XD comes with an impressive and spacious interior and a special Rear Seat Delete feature. Moreover, under the hood of this pickup will be powerful gasoline 5.6-liter V8 engine as a standard option. In addition, the 5.0-liter Cummins powertrain will be affordable as well. The new Titan XD will be available in five trim levels.

2019 Nissan Titan XD Changes

The upcoming 2019 Nissan Titan XD will receive a couple of new standard and optional features. For this model, every trim level will include a 7.0-inch touchscreen with available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, a pair of extra USB ports will be affordable as well. The extended and crew-cab variants add a Rear Door Alert. This system reminds the driver to check the rear seat when the vehicle is parked.

The SV model gets a new grille, the chrome one has been replaced by a body-color piece. The upper trim levels, The Pro-4X, SL, and Platinium Reserve will get two illuminated USB-A charge ports.
The diesel Titan XD is coming with a larger tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a new gooseneck trailer hitch, with a cargo-bed plug. Moreover, Moab Sunset and Midnight Pine are two new paint options in the color palette.

2019 Nissan Titan XD Styling

The exterior of the new 2019 Nissan Titan XD shares a similar design cue with its siblings. The very same boxy shapes, bulky body and thick frame from the Titan Nismo and Titan Warrior you’ll find here as well. The fender lines are more prominent and add to the rugged appearance. In the cabin, the dashboard is very practical, but the design could be more appealing. The leather appointments in the Pro-4X trim dress up the interior.

Furthermore, the top-ranking Platinium Reserve adds classy two-tone leather and open-pore wood trim. The topnotch Zero Gravity seats are the highlights of this interior. With their great balance of support and comfort, these seats are perfect for long journeys. King cab variants come with a unique Rear Seat Delete option. This option replaces the rear seat and associated parts with a flat load floor and a rear-wall finisher with tie-down hooks.

2019 Nissan Titan XD Safety Features

The 2019 Nissan Titan XD hasn’t been crash-tested by the National Traffic Safety Administration or the IIHS so far. Still, the insurance industry-funded tested the Titan crew cab and has not crashed other body configurations. The new model will have a couple of driver-assistance features to help handle its massive measurements. However, in the pickup segment, the Ford Super Duty is absolute leader, with the available safety tech and features.

The most important safety equipment includes available blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and available front and rear parking sensors. The Titan XD also includes six airbags, stability control, and anti-lock brakes. Unfortunately, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control won’t be part of the standard or optional safety package on any Titan. The company’s warranty coverage for the Titan XD is one of the best, still, it lacks complimentary scheduled maintenance.

2019 Nissan Titan XD Specs

The standard powertrain that comes with 2019 Nissan Titan XD is a gasoline-powered 5.6-liter V8. This engine is quiet and sleek and it can produce up to 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. The 7-speed automatic transmission delicately changes gears under light- and mid-throttle inputs, and instantly downshifts when you fire up the whole thing. However, that’s not the case with the optional diesel powertrain. The 5.0-liter Cummins diesel can produce 310 hp and 555 lb-ft.

This may sound a lot, but it’s heavily underpowered, in comparison with its competitors. With a maximum tow rating of 12,760 pounds, it barely can compete with heavy-duty vehicles, which can haul around fifty percent more. The optional engine will tow only about 1000 pounds more than the gasoline powertrain. The Titan XD is a heavy-duty vehicle, under the EPA rules. So, this vehicle’s fuel economy is not rated by that federal agency.
