2019 Nissan Pathfinder Redesign and Release Date

2019 Nissan Pathfinder

In the past, the Pathfinder was known as a pretty capable body-on-frame SUV. These days, it is a modern crossover that focuses much more on comfort and on-road driving. Such design came with the current generation, which is on the market since 2013. For these five years of production, we have already seen one update, two years ago, and that is the main reason why the next-year model is coming pretty much unchanged. Despite the fact that many reports have been speculating about the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder redesign, the fact is that we will have to wait for at least a few more years to see a complete redesign. Until then, count on a familiar design, though each year model could bring a few more features.

When it comes to the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder release date, the new model is already available in some markets. Rest of them will receive it by the end of the year.

2019 Nissan Pathfinder Design

In terms of base design characteristics, there are no bigger changes for the upcoming year. Despite rumors about the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder redesign, we are seeing pretty much the same crossover, which came five years ago. In terms of the styling, this model features pretty much the same appearance as the model from two years ago, when we saw a facelift. For that occasion, the Pathfinder adopted the brand’s latest design language, which includes the famous V-Motion grille and other familiar design elements.

The overall shape comes in a classic three-row SUV layout and interestingly, the current model kept some of design solutions from its past, some elements that aren’t that common among modern crossovers. Therefore, the Pathfinder sometimes features pretty rough ride characteristics.

2019 Nissan Pathfinder Interior

The interior of this crossover is a mixed bag. At the first look, it definitely shows its age, even more than that. Its blend dashboard looks less attractive compared to other models in the class. However, the overall cabin quality is quite good. All materials are good and things are becoming even better once you step up to higher trim levels.

The base cabin layout is pretty common. This is a classic three-row mid-size crossover. Therefore, first two rows are quite spacious and deliver quite good support and quality. On the other side third row isn’t impressive, but still features more space compared to most mid-size SUVs. It can definitely accommodate adult passengers, at least those of a smaller size.

When it comes to the cargo capacity, you can count on class-average numbers. You will get 16 cubic feet behind the third row. Once it folds down, you can count on 48 cubic feet. Finally, total capacity goes around 80 cubic feet. All in all, a quite good numbers.

Trim Levels

The trim level organization also remains the same, although there are some interesting novelties in terms of standard equipment. This especially refers to certain safety systems, which are now available in all trims levels except the base one. Speaking of the base model, it wears the S badge and it comes with a fine amount of standard features. Some of the highlights are 18-inch wheels, rearview camera, three-zone automatic climate control, 8-inch touchscreen, automatic emergency braking, rear parking sensors etc.

The SV trims add several interesting things, mainly in terms of safety features and driver aids. Some of them are foglights, rear parking sensors,blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control etc.

Next in the line is the SL trim. This one adds standard features like leather upholstery, LED headlights, a power liftgate, 360-degree camera etc.

Finally, there is a Platinum trim level, with plenty of conveniences. You can count on goodies like ventilated seats, wood interior trim, power-adjustable steering wheel and much more.

The engine is definitely one of the 2019Nissan Pathfinder’s strongest points. All models feature a powerful 3.5-literV6, which is good for about 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a CVT gearbox and such combination provides surprisingly elements. Also, a fuel economy is on a pretty high level. You can count on20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Another strong point is towing capacity, which goes up to 6.000 pounds, which is good number for a crossover, definitely better than most models in the class.
