The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is a five-passenger SUV and it will come in five trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited and Ultimate. All of these models will come with the standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder powertrain. This engine can develop 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

The Limited and the Ultimate models will have optional turbo 2.0-liter drivetrain with 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore,  all models come with the front-wheel and all-wheel drive, it’s up to you to choose between these two. The 8-speed automatic transmission is standard on all models. The SE and SEL come with the decent equipment and the SEL Plus and Limited will add some useful features.

The base engine is 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that develops 185 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and 178 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful drivetrain is 2.0-liter capable to produce 235 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque.

However, for the new model both of these directly-injected engines profit from a new electric variable valve-timing system. This system replaces the old hydraulic one and the Theta powertrain will only benefit from it.

For the base level of 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, the MSRP starts around $27,000, which includes $1,000 of destination fee. The SEL, with Drive Mode package and a heated driver’s seat, starts just above $29,000. The SEL Plus, with the 18-inch wheels, 2-row cargo area, Infinity stereo system, and a hands-free liftgate will cost $31,000. The Limited starts just over $34,000 and adds leather seats to the equipment.

The top-class level, The Ultimate at nearly $37,000 brings a surround-view monitor, a head-up display, 8-inch touch, and wireless smartphone charging. The 2.0-liter engine is available as an option only on the Limited and Ultimate models and adds about $1,800 to the price. In this case, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is in line with the competitors like Ford Edge, Chevy Equinox, Nissan Murano and Subaru Forester. The release date of the new model is expected in the spring of 2019.
