It’s been a full decade since we saw something new from the legendary military-inspired SUV. The famous Hummer originally came 26 years ago, in 1992. Since then, we have seen three generations of it. The last model ended its production in 2010. However, there was a concept named HX in 2008, which is practically the latest Hummer we have seen so far. This model supposed to be the next generation of the SUV, names as H4. It was designed in a little bit different way, compared to the previous version. It was smaller and more maneuverable and supposed to compete models like Jeep Wrangler. Eventually, the company gave up. This model never entered serial production and the whole nameplate was discontinued a couple of years later.
Hummer HX Concept
As we already mentioned, the HX concept supposed to succeed the H3 model. However, it was a little bit different in terms of base design characteristics. The concept was smaller than its predecessors. Also, it came with a unique desert-inspired matte olive color and with a lot of interesting details. First of all, it featured a slant-back layout. It was based on a familiar body-on-frame platform and came with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine. In terms of styling, it was a futuristic resemblance of earlier models, with removable doors, fenders etc.
The interior design was also pretty unique, with sheet metal surfaces dominating. The seating capacity was for four, though rear seats were removable, in order to provide more cargo space. Interestingly, the concept didn’t feature the classic radio system, but just a compartment for headphones and a CD player.
2019 Hummer H1 Comes Back
The famous military SUV is coming back, but we definitely won’t see a new H4 model. GM actually doesn’t have pretty much anything to do with the new 2019 Hummer H1 military-inspired SUV. It is an SUV that comes from the renowned company called Mil-Spec-Automotive, which created some kind of rebooted version of the original. Engineers from this company spend more than two years designing this SUV and it brings lots of new techs and design solutions, solving all the issues that bothered the original model.
2019 Hummer H1 Design
We can definitely say that the new model is some kind of a 2019 Hummer H1 Custom version. It is based on the original but actually doesn’t have too many things in common with the stock model. It rides on the same chassis, but pretty much everything else gets modifications, in order to remove all the weak points for the initial model.
The styling is a special story in particular. The body is made of aircraft-grade aluminum. Some of the highlights are details like heavy-duty bumpers, ceramic underbody, in-house textured body coating, military wheels etc. Also, you can clearly notice LED lighting around the SUV. A wide choice of body styles is another interesting thing about the SUV. You can choose between five different configuration –hardtop, slant back, wagon, 2-door truck, and 4-door truck.
Interior
On the inside, you can notice lots of upgrades over the stock model, which is pretty much expected, considering the model’s extremely high price. Some of the 2019 Hummer H1 interior highlights are things like top-level hand-stitched leather, new seats, premium audio systems, lots of gadgetry etc.
2019 Hummer H1 Engine
The 2019 Hummer H1 remains loyal to its roots, so you can once again count on a large V8 diesel unit. This time, we are not talking about old Detroit diesel, but about the newer-generation Duramax units. A 6.6-liter Duramax V8 has been tuned all away up to 500 horsepower and monstrous 1000 pound-feet of torque. Such huge numbers definitely guarantee amazing capabilities, but the new 2019 Hummer H1 also comes with a pretty smooth ride, thanks to a new 6-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all wheels.
2019 Hummer H1 Price
Of course, this significant update and upgrade have weak points as well. One of them is the 2019 Hummer H1 price, which goes all away up to 218.500 dollars. Still, it an upgraded, up-to-date military SUV that rides smooth is your dream vehicle, this 2019 Hummer H1 definitely won’t cost too much for you.
